I think that is also treeline DSing.
This model is only a meter in span.
Hi Knut, I think there is a little misundertood here, on the video you sent before the model is BIRD (falcongliders and soaringusa) or BART (icare-rc).
You thought it was the "BIRDY DS" from Andreas Decker from Decker planes, a german who used to cut and sell balsa kits....the kits are very very veyr nice, I had luck to get myself a Birdy DS, it flys very nice, like a DLG, like a floater launching with hook and a mini DS plane in light wind. I already flew mine into 60km/h wind, we found each other in air, a bobolink from arthobby and my Birdy DS, guess who win!?!?!?

Combate DLG (1 min 14 sec)

and Dsing

Birdy DS - Morro do Palha (4 min 6 sec)

Unfortunately he stop producing, I think, I didn't have news about his planes anymore

Sweet aZZ Alex.
Got to love small planks... 500g is a great weight for fun flying and banging turns..
Love the exeleration out of the top turn. Wish we had some wind like that.

Ahh, it sounded like the psych ward here in my office, due to my maniacal laughter and moaning as you carved those top turns thru the cloud with the RT42!! Seriously good stuff. You are one crazy man Alex Hewson. If it was me I wouldn't even fly with low cloud like that!!

I have vivid recollections of a day at Point Fermin not so long ago ... inversion cloud the locals refer to as the "June Gloom" ... the whole of the coastline thick with dense fog, and Alex insisting on flying his Stobel v2 DLG which kept disappearing in the cloud, then DSing it over the flat park behind the fence

Finally got around to finishing the Jazz! Can't believe it did 149mph with only strapping tape!

Cleaned and scrubbed with acetone then spray adhesive between all layers of tape to ensure adhesion,

Has cross strapping, covering film them Lam Film.

Feeling and looking much better

On the building board "to do" list:

- JAZZ 48

- JW60 DS

- PW51 DS foam plank

- DS cross tail Foamie

- Second JW style plank I cut myself

- Reaper 60 x2

- RT30 molds

- RT42 molds

- 60" Fuse mold

- 6m ASW-28

Far out putting it like that gives me a big facepalm!

Pick the best two and concentrate on them I reckon- Its only 3 months away!!
I have now got 3 scorchers going, but on my current crash rate I need to build at least 1 more.... Although, Ive only ever built three wings, all have had some pretty big crashes (batballs will attest to that) and the fuses seem to be all that breaks. They just wont die!
They're like the datsuns of the sky!

I also want to get around to making a 48" plank plug/mould. I want simplicity so it will be a blended wing/fuse.
I sketched it, looks ugly but should look less stumpy in real life I reckon

Oi you stole my design lol!

Cutting the high taper is almost impossible though. Tried several times on the CNC hotwire, but you need to bring the posts in so the block just fits between them.

I should post a pics of the RT30 molds from CAD
