Spectacular sites and sweet flying Alex. That spot looked like so much fun with heaps of lift and clean shear. The Tracer was loving it. Seeing it ds again reminded me of watching Sean ds it at Johanna during Camperdown 2010. Sweet plane, I have videos of it on my hard drive somewhere but I found this video of him flying it along side a Cyril and Carbon Bird later the same day at Johanna.

Cyril and Tracer side by side (1 min 13 sec)

I'm guessing this must be treeline DS in that agricultural paddock near your house??? Can't wait to see it Alex!

Top stuff Alex finally I've got to watch it - it took ages to load! Very good, very interesting and looks like great fun. Is that a school!!?? I expected a paddock and you were DSing over the tennis courts! Is it completely flat on the other side of the trees? It looked like it.

got me thinking ... there must some seriously good treeline DS opportunities in NZ. I remember when we were travelling around over there, the big wind barrier treelines between sheep paddocks were amazing. Some were super tall. They needed a big cherrypicker to get up there to trim them, (poplars I think?) and they were really very solid walls - complete windblocks. If you could find a big one like that which faces right into the strongest wind it could be amazingly good. Maybe add that to the International NZ DS fest agenda!

Beautiful landings. You could see the power of DS ... when you bungee launched you got reasonable height and dived in, then after a few laps you punched out to about 3x higher!!

Good work.

Interesting video Alex! What surprised me is that I was expecting to see at least a bit of a frontside slope, but it appears to be a completely flat - is that correct?

Awsome Alex, thanks for posting. That opens up more possibilities everywhere. So far trees never been my friends, at least what flying is concerned.

One of the best examples to date of treeline DSing.

Nice flying Alex!

There are some great sites for treeline DSing around the Camperdown area that we will need to sus out more next year.
