alex, i was gonna buy that too, but the hitec you can assign which channel is which (dont need to use aux 2 for flap etc, and every receiver comes with receiver battery voltage, worth its weight in gold imo

I have well over $1000 worth of DSM2 Rxs. I cannot afford to change away from it now

haha yeah that's fair enough i guess, thats why i bought the dx8, but it cant do much programming, dx18 is meant to be great for sailplanes, where i mainly fly on bald knob there is a big tv broadcast station, dsm2 is a no no, but dsmx was alright, only a couple lockouts, but the good thing with dsmx is it comes back online in nearly an instant. and had no issues with hitec.

A local guy here had a new Aurora 9 and he had several lockouts with his. Never found why. I will personally stay away from one myself. I am going to have a look at a DX18 in person first, maybe have a fly of it too before considering buying one

Ah the memories! http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=567968

If only I knew then where I was headed in terms of speeds.. and realising the dream of making it to the mecca, Weldon!

We were such innocent little DSers back then lol

I've been really naught recently have havent done much DS or DS building. Instead i have been making electrics and infdoor models. Also haven't been keen to head up the hills till my knee came right.

Managed to get out for some DS last week. Have missed a few big days as I don't have anything to fly in big wind anymore =(

So I have been waiting for a light-medium forecast that wasn't too cold to wring out the Tracer. Went up three times last week. Went to Sugarloaf (12min from my place) and Cass Ridge twice (16min from my place).

I have some video so will compile and upload.

Last thursday and last monday were only light days and had the tracer going around well, land so easy! Flew the Le Fish heaps too.

Saturday was a steady 25mph so I took up the tracer and Le Fish again. three or four good laps would put the tracer about as fast as i would want to put it. MAN this thing has good energy retention and is SUPER stable and controllable in the circuit! Found my balls again and did some Acro with it. Does nice inverted. Need to up ailerons a little. Next time I will be hand catching it on landing as it is just too easy to land! Best DS I have had at Cass Ridge
