Very nice indeed, Charles. What's the story on your test pilot? Mine is my 17 year-old son, who's of the Nintendo generation, and a much more instinctive pilot than his old man....

Looks more like a museum model than RC plane. Great job! I hope it fly's as good as it looks.

Thanks to you all for your kind words – much appreciated
Steve – my test pilot is my eldest brother who lives in Santa Barbara some of the time and the UK the rest of the time. We will get this model airborne at some point, there's no mad rush, I certainly don't want to risk ruining 9 months hard graft!

Hi Robert ,

Outstanding ! Just goes to show you don't need to finish on time to have a winner . These late finishes are quite often the true winners . Great job and best wishes on your maiden .

So any madien flight yet? Video of the madien? It is one outragous model, super job..really REALLY amazing! How many hours did it take to build? How many years have you been building? How did you get the covering to look so perfect? I am taken back by the beauty and scale realisim...I love it!

A+ to you sir!

Hi RC – thanks for your kind words – unfortunately the maiden has been postponed, the test pilot is in Santa Barbara (due to return end of the year) and I have recently had surgery on my left hand. I will be shooting a video of the maiden, I can't wait for that to happen but will have to patient. I began this project almost a year ago and completed the build in September – I began a build log here and that made the whole building experience so much better – got so much help and ideas from other modellers.
Best

Hi Meltor – glad to read that you are building the B17, it will certainly keep you occupied for a while. The B17 has not had it's maiden flight as yet – the test pilot is still in Santa Barbara! I am hoping that we will get to fly sometime this summer, but at this time I don't know when. Rest assured as soon as we fly I shall be filming a video.
Good luck with your build, I look forward to following your progress.
Best
