No prob!
Sometimes important stuff like that gets lost in useless thread chatter
Lemme know if you need any more tips or clarification.

Well, all was good and I was on the way to finishing this bird over the weekend, but then

I hooked up the servo, linkage, and all worked. Test fitted it, perfect, but then I noticed the elevator tips were not even, were they warped? Nope, one of the cloth hinges was not right. It showed too much and it had play.

Resolution, I cut the elevator off, used my fingernails to remove the tape and now I will make new slots and use pinned hinges.

PS: the 1/4 strip that runs inside the trailing edge of the stab is harder wood than balsa, hard to cut new hinge slots.

it is becoming more apparent that the quality of wood in each kit/stab is all over the place.
after opening up Nicks stab and inspecting it, he had a pretty good one the spar and trailing blocks were all nice hard balsa pieces but in tams stab it is extremely soft balsa

Use a Dremel. Makes quick work of cutting hinge slots.

All is well, new pin hinges installed, tape re-applied, it came out perfect. I filled in the excess hinge slots with Hysol, pressed it in with my fingers, then wiped the surface clean, so there is no bumps or restrictions to the elevator operation.

Thanks again for the simple solution to the problem. I am now excited about this project.

Al

Which color do you have Al? My three Sniper 90`s all flew great, just needed reinforcement to go fast.

White, Red, and Blue. I am slightly color blind, so the colors could be White, Orange and Purple. LOL

So that`s the clasic Sniper scheme. Of those offered right now, I`d go with that one too, Good visability and good colors. I like the red and white High Viz too, but it`s not quite what I expected.

Good luck with yours.

Yea I'm with you. Not quite what I was hoping for. But should be easy to see.

I feel like I had to post these positive stuff about this plane.

I just cut out the servo covers and expected the wings to be the typical construction, cheap wood, covered by cheap shrink covering, boy was I surprised. The wings are composite and painted. I would love to know how they did it.

After inspecting the rest of the parts, not many, I find this plane to be one heck of a bargain. I really think that it is strong and could easily stand up to my abuse. The stab install was easy, so long as you know what has to be done. Just do it right the first time.

Thanks to the few guys that sacrificed their planes in the process of isolating some potential elevator issues, when flown at high speed. We are grand daughter sitting or I would finish it tonight and fly tomorrow. This is the first plane that I ever assembled and changed my mind from bad to good.

Maiden will have to be in two weeks, going to AZ next weekend.

That`s all good and everything, but I have a question.

Who are you and what have you done with Al?
