Super Sniper XL 90mm EDF - O/W... what's O/W ?
O/W = Orange & White, that is the only color currently offered, there will be more colors but the first batch will be orange & white.

Oh ok, do you know if it's painted in the mold? I'll just stick with the factory scheme for now, but would love to strip it back down to white when I have time, then experiment with a custom airbrush scheme.

Brickyard,
They are painted in the mold. Wouldn't be hard to strip down though.
I like to use "Citristrip". Sold here at Home Depot/Lowes.

That stuff works miracles
Does take a little extra time and effort, but its possible. I used it on the Prototype when I glassed the Wing Center Section. Can't wait for the new ones to arrive!!!

do you have to let it sit for a while, or apply and scuff, or?

I usually wait about 15-20 mins.
Don't wait long enough and it doesn't strip the paint good enough.
Wait too long and it starts drying up and you've wasted your time.

Really good stuff to work with though... and it smells like oranges!!!

Yeah, I found Citristriping up to about 1/4" from already hinged flying surfaces, then wet sanding the last lil bit, gets a perfect result & saves the NIGHTMARE of dealing with that stuff between the gaps.

Hey, plenty of turbine experience, but I'm pretty new to EDF.. Anyone feel like offering setup suggestions? So far from watching video's I'm in love with the Stumax fan sound, but not sure how they are with performance/efficiency.. Any books/video's you guys can recommend to bring me up to EDF speed?

Sounds good, I've only had one Sapac 70mm & went with the stock recommended setup. I plan on experimenting & expanding knowledge with this bird. As someone said earlier in this thread, I think the Sniper XL may be "the one"
Neo of EDF's

I think we are all hanging out for this bird!! I am planning on fitting one of my new Extreme 90mm Alloy housings with 700-68-1400 and CS12 blade rotor, 3000w and 4.4kg thrust, should make a good demo model

I had one of the smaller Snipers for my first composite EDF and gained a LOT of experience both in "building" and flying this type of plane. If you already fly turbines you will have no problem with the flying part, and once you hage out here for a but you will pick up the electric bit pretty quick. If you do your homework its hard to get it wrong .
