Storms on the way back past yesterday afternoon, so we went straight past, I/we got smashed by hail at Lake Keepit turnoff, and wont have the truck for about 10 days... not nice!

Aerotow

Hey Laurie,

Do you do any aero towing with that big plastic whipper snipper plane of yours ? I have a 1/5th scale Kookaburra (8' WS) that I could bring next year that loves a tow. All balsa construction so not prepared to chuck it off the slope and land it in the dirt as it just might not survive the landing, well not style of landing anyway !!!! so a take off and landing at Godfreys would suit.

Ok ,its offical ,Ive been awarded along with a couple of others as the MASNSW/MAAA glider instructor, so those flyers who want can do the gold wings test at Manilla next year and we can deliver a mass wings application to the MASNSW which will show them how many people they have been ignoring for so long .Take note though nothing about the slope fest will change in any way the fest is the fest ,what happens on the Mountian stays on the mountian lol. So along with John doing LSF stuff we will be able to test for our State and federal Governing bodies awards as well. However dont feel you have to take part in any of these things as its not at all mandatory ,its just something extra you may take away from the event You do need to be affilated with the MAAA to take the test though

On a related story:

Just came back from a conference with Nick's teacher. My wife and I went to hear about his progress. Everything seems to be in order.
But if that woman had made mention of Nick missing two week of school one more time, I would have decked her!
It was all: "Nick is great and he's making progress now that he's back full time. He missed a couple of questions on his test, but I think it was because he was away for two weeks...." ..and on and on and on!!!!

Any hoo, I thought you guys would appreciate this.
And I'm sure if you were there, you's take great pleasure in telling her about all the nasty things you thought him!!!

What's her email I'll ask her a few anatomy questions or rather what cant fit in certain openings , "dush" has probably never been out of her own neighbourhood. Nicks a great kid and I'm sure that the life exprience he gained and the culture exchange he recieved will put him ahead of his class mates .

Got a Cd in the mail the other day from Merv Green with some more video of my Manilla mig, thought I would post it.

Andrew Laurie's Big plastic pink lady plane died on the weekend after another big plastic plane took its wing off during a streamer cutting session don't know if he will repair it. It was spectacular.

Slope Glider Manilla Mig (7 min 39 sec)

Steve,
My Kooka has no fibreglass covering component at all to it so the fuse is straight Balsa.
Congrats on your appointment. I just might have to partake in this. Is this the one where you have to slopesoar for 8 hours ?

No Andrew this is about flying and control rather than aiming to beat a time or distance
The Hurricane is an open structure with stringers and covered in solartex
P.S. where's the build photo's of the Zero

Not much to show, just lots of sanding, epoxy and filler....Still, here is an old photo or two for you.
