Hobby King ad on the Science Channel

Has anyone seen this ad. It shows a father and son getting up early to go do some FPV flying.

i was asleep at 11pm with tv on and woke up to it....i couldnt believe it.....had to do the eye-rub and hit the rewind on the cable remote........good and bad...its a very well done commercial and gets the mood of waking up early to get those windless summer/spring days..i have to say, tho, i dont like the details of what we do going too mainstream........ i also feel it will bring people into the hobby who go straight to fpv and never learn to fly old school (not good)....my friend tried that and its very scary...i had to always be watching him ...no natural feel for the plane ...i keep telling him he needs to get like 40 hrs old school and/or on sim (like realflight v5 or something) before plunging headstrong into fpv...but all he wants to do is "be in the plane"........admittedly all i do is fpv now, but i probably had 100+ hrs of old school rc plane flying before i discovered it 3+yrs ago.......we shud ask HK to just do commercials with straight-up-old-school rc instead...its probably better for them longterm revenuewise....if fpv gets clamped down on , their sales will undoubtedly fall.....plus, i dont think they want the fbi demanding to see their client list every week either (because they will if these commercials go viral!)

HobbyKing probably figures that FPV is what non-RCers are most likely to be interested in. Anyway, in the commercial, the dad is flying the plane the old school way, and the son has the FPV goggles on.

hobbyking is expanding like any other business, that means they are doing well and are expanding to new market demographics rather than catering to the niche hobbyist.

Personally I think rcgroups needs to stop hiding the search field inside a drop down menu and make it more visible on the page.
