PLD-PGMS8: 4 channel programmable LED/strobe

The PGMS8 is an expansion from the original PLD-PGMS which was around for quite a few years (it's now open-source hardware/firmware if you're interested).

The PGMS8 has 4 channels and I'm looking to see if I can incorporate fade in/out options to the strobing. The MOSFETs built in to the PGMS8 will handle 1A constant without any troubles. There is also an option to use internal (RX/BEC) power, rather than requiring an external power source - obviously it is up to the user to determine the safe maximum current limit to prevent overloading the BEC/RXsupply.

Overall the board is a little larger than the original PGMS.

You can use the existing programming interface to program the new PGMS8.

Circuit boards arrived, that was a little bit quicker than anticipated (10 days), so an early christmas perhaps for some

Now the trick is to get the firmware running

Not quite as tiny as the original PGMS but still very small - and it has more features and the extra channel.

So here it is, PLD-PGMS8 ... Serial #1 off the production line. I still obviously need to do the firmware but I'm hoping that'll all be done by Monday.

Anyone interested in one... or two ?

Strobe unit is working great I unfortunately did blow up some things when I connected a cable backwards (yes, I can still make mistakes like that when doing these developments) - destroyed my long loved servo testing board; guess I'll just have to make another one tomorrow.

The serial interface is a lot more verbose this time around, because I have a lot more FLASH space on the microcontroller to stretch my arms.

Code:
  PLD-PGMS8 Programmable Strobe v3
cX-on,off,...on,off: to set channel X pulses
T: listen for transmitter, t: ignore transmitter
d: dump channel information
q: quit.

So the main changes are: One output more (4 vs 3),+ and fade in out, right?. What value has the output voltage?

Elossam, haven't been able to create a fade facility (yet). The output voltage on the pins depends on what you plug into the power port, or if you use the RX power. You can put up to 16V on the power.
