Anyone know if they've upped the QC on this recently? I really want to order one, but don't wanna go through the hassle with cracked wings and bent stuff...

Hey guys,

I recently got one of these, no problems with mine to report so far...

...well apart from the manual stating CG should be 10mm back from the LE. Is that not far too nose heavy? Any ideas where to set it, I take it that was a typo!!

For about 15-30 seconds

At least this was how long mine lasted when I tried a couple of weeks ago. It was the motor that gave up, I did not loose control and could dead-stick it to a decent landing.

Now it is up for a NTM13-12 2600Kv and a 3s capable ESC and some propeller experiments...

I just received mine and all was in good order (no broken wing tips).
Im waiting on my transmitter so i cant really test it.

Im only going to glue the wing down and use a rubber band for the front panel.

Loving the look of it though.

Good idea!

I wish that I had taken the time to make the front removable...

Yeah i really didn't like the idea of gluing it on and making the motor and esc inaccessible.

I feel like blacking out the windscreen would improve the look, has anyone tried that?

Tried it in photoshop, i think ill do it by masking it off and spray painting it black from the inside.

sorry for being spammy, but instead of spraying i decided to just cover the gear with some black cardboard.

Durafly Edge 540 V3 Micro - Windy maiden flight (1 min 26 sec)

A little faster than what im used to flying and a bit wild in the wind, good fun though.
I nosed it in on the next battery when i failed to pull out of a loop. I blame the wind :P
Suffered bent nose and the vertical stab came off, easy enough fix though.

I was only doing 3 min flights per 180mah 2s, but now that ive testing how much i pulled out of the batteries im sure it will do 5 mins per battery safely.

Mine arrived yesterday, lovely little plane, it did have a broken wing tip but nothing I'm going to cry over, just need to sort the electronics and maybe use an as3x in it if I can find one cheap enough.

With all the reviews of it having snapped wingtips, should I still buy it?

Mine was ok from the factory.

Well it was until my Dad melted one of the tips with his soldering iron
He filled it, so apart from being the wrong colour, oh and probably a little heavier, it's all good!

I know it is an unfair comparison but it is not as good as my Sbach. On the other hand though this gets taken everywhere without even needing a box, I wouldn't even think of taking the Sbach anywhere without its box...
