Does anyone besides me think that there are a few people that abuse this section? Its always the same ones over and over.Now not to say I have not pickup up a couple of items for free and have put items in the free section,but after watching the thread a little I keep seeing the same names one that I wont mention has got 4 or 5 items within the past 3 weeks.I have things for free that I dont use anymore but will not put here now cause of this.

I agree. It is starting to be abused.

Yeah, there's quite a few people who monitor that forum daily....they wait to pounce on anything that gets posted. It's a shame because it makes it almost impossible to grab something you could actually use....I think most just grab it because its free or they think they can resell it for a couple bucks. Whenever I give something away, I always do a random draw.

Omg, thank you! A couple of months ago, I took it upon myself to police that forum and call out the worst of the moochers. Earned myself some points and made some enemies, but it was worth it.

Might don the badge again, lol!

I've also seen guys on other forums make people submit their reason for wanting the free item and the "seller" decides based on the submissions.

You could also ask for people that will use it for educational reasons, etc. I donated my walkera 5g6 to an air cadets group to get them into RC flying, best loss of money I've ever had!

I've seen guys buy stuff of the tables and then have them offered in the auction for 4 x what they paid for them.

There always has, is and will be those who take advantage of another generosity.

Some use the first to respond.
Other use a random number generator.
Some for single purpose.

Amen I agree, then you have some people asking for free shipping. In another words if its free it should be completely FREE. I don't know where this will end.
How can you screen out people and see who gets what.
I have seen where someone was giving away a prop and someone had to ask what the number meant something like 12X6.5. Someone who does not know what the prop number means does not need it.

The "Ignore" option is yet another useful tool to use here on RCG.

It is another case where the "first come first sereved" ideal is dismantled. Sellers in all sections have the right to choose who they sell to - this extends to who they give things away to as well. Trying to be fair - mods will get bent if there is a contest. Members get mad if they reply first but don't get the item. It is not easy to be generous on RCG.

IMO, This would be fairly easy to police as a person who wanted to give away a "free" item.

Just simply state in your ad that "If you have been first or second in line for any free item in this particular forum in the last 6 months, you are not eligible for this item"......"You must also have been a contributing member of RCG for at least 6 months"....

If there is anyone "hawking" the Free section, this would make it tough for them

Or also we might want to add that this thread should be a kind of a "pay it forward"

I know that when I started flying a lot of friends help me out and through the years I have given out a lot of stuff .

So when someone gets something for free or by just paying the shipping they should be required to do place something for free as well.

Just my 2c
