YUmmmm.

'Soup Kitchens' are cool.
Well I've never been to actual one meant for homeless/street people, but years ago there was this cool Diner type place me and my mate used to go to after work at the the cinema (around 12.30am-1.00am) and they had nicest Curried Sausages and Rice for just a few bucks.

Totally off topic I know, but there is nothing doing on the 'Freebies' topic anyway and person who mentioned Soup Kitchens reminded of those Curried Snags we used have all those years ago (about 25 years ago in fact). Now I feel like cooking up some Curried Sausages. Oh crap now a cooking show just came onto TV making me even more hungry!

B!

...Now I'm thinking of Seinfeld...NO SOUP FOR YOU - and NO FREEBIE for YOU.

This thread is way past being useful for anything now.

May as well just fill it up with humor & mocking of those who complain about the lack of free stuff in their lives.

Today is Chinese New Year....China is 'closed' for a few weeks apparently, so I'll be a while yet.

Of course this is speculation - but makes for a good story.

There will be bitching going on forums/threads everywhere with lifeforms complaining about
orders taking too long to be processed/sent/delivered etc, etc, etc, ad nausea

...you forgot to mention people getting upset about not getting anything for free too...I mean, the people are celebrating a time of giving, you would think they would at least GIVE...

Love this thread so much.....

Yep i'd have to agree on this comment,i get three or four times as much off HK than i use to from my LHS which isn't so local anyway,i had to give my LHS a wide berth as their prices were just to much compared to HK and other online RC stores,i understand they have over heads but i just couldn't justify what i was paying for their items compared to HK's.

I use to be all for supporting your local hobby shop but there comes a point when enough is enough, with the way things are i'll be sticking with HK for a good while yet, just saying.

perhaps anthony and the accounting dept figured things out and got new sales and purchasing people that don't over-stock on crap. always remember that the freebie items were underperforming over-stock, that was talking up valuable warehouse space (costing them money!!) if it was truly a marketing strategy, they would have a-spec batts and other top tier products to giveaway etc. when you go the market and get free samples, it is always showcase/new products, not items that have past their expiry date (like the freebies.)

if the freebie campaign (warehouse cleaning) were to recommence, it would be before the christmas season, when they need to make room for what they think they will need to stock up.
