8s4000mah / 28.24v / 92.6A / 2616w / 42,360rpm / 4+kg thrust 1680Kv
8s4000mah / 30.06v / 61.3A / 1844W / 38,280rpm / 3+kg thrust 1400Kv

These figures are from ExtremeRC on het 90mm, I can see where your amps @ 130A by using 1865Kv motor its too high.
I would suggest you are way over the ratings for that motor, I cannot find any data on it to confirm this. Is the HET fan good for 55K RPM?

Here are some pics of my T-45 which is the same plane as the HK Hawk but with a different paint scheme...Landing gear are RC Lander all metal gear with struts...I also added an afterburner ring for show even though the real plane doesn't have an afterburner---My boys like it anyway FWIW........

The plane is ready to maiden but the winds have been blowing pretty hard here lately...To pass the time I'm adding more scale details---Now, I'm painting the little fixed stabs that mount just ahead of the horizontal stabs for the T-45...I made the fences from ABS sheet and painted them to match...

I'm not sure I can trust my HK watt/amp meter...I need to do more tests to see what is actually going on...This motor is rated for 8S but I'm running 5000mAh batts vs 4000mAh batts....The motor seems to be able to cope with what I've got...

I have the same Thing but with 1500kv
HET fan /700-68-1500kv motor
2x4s 4500mah 35-70c nanotech packs .. got 2505watts and 87amps draw at WOT.. that's a ground test.. I haven't measured the thrust but with my MB339 and beeing at 3.2kg awg it can take off at a tad more than half throttle. ( ofcourse the flare of the plane helps a lot)
Oh forgot to mention that the ESC (CC ICE100) was at autocalibration and set timing to Medium

well I don't know about this 90mm HET fan but I knwo I pushed the 70mm with my hoffman magnetics 4130kv with 5s at 137amps amp draw and 2330watts.
I had more than 150 flights both on 5 and 4s until it gave up . it also records a crash if that's significan..

if this say something I trust HET fans and I could also push my 90mm with 10s but I have no HV esc available right now. it also has enough power to do that..
The only downside is the sound.. it's balanced.. (it never rubbed or gave me weird sound) but kind of pitchy sound.. it's not the woosh you expect.. I'm gonna take a video in a while when I ll go to a club that a friend flies and I will post.

Where is everyone thinking of putting their ESC. I was thinking mounted to an inlet duct with the heatsink into the duct for good cooling.

Since the het motors wires are so short I was going to mount the esc under the fan hatch and extend the battery cables, there will be plenty of airflow passing between the ducts and the fuselage while the plane is in the air( big gaps between the intake ducts and the cowling)..
Should help with the COG also..Not sure if extending the battery cables is a big no no but it seemed ok in my parkzone habu, thats what they do.

there will be no probs.. I have extended mine on my other models with no probs. I prefer to leave the motor wires as they are.. Voltage is voltage for the battery wires but the motor wires also receive signal so I prefer to leave them untouched

Have you guys seen the crazy people trying to put a 12s setup on the CMP Hawk?

A 6s 5000mah setup is more than enough for a good, long flight.

it's not crazy 12s cangive you longer flying times or make it bullet fast.
my opinon is that 10s is the best or even 8s.. because on that cell count you balance amp draw below 100 or at 100amps which are most ESCs and also have VERY good speed.

besides JEts are made for speed not just cruising around :P

Do not extend battery side esc cables without adding more caps extending motor side is fine if you extend the battery side the caps will blow then the fets will by by esc I cut battery and esc cables as short as possible especially running packs in series this also increases cable length.do a search on it loads to learn if you add caps the type is critical also.
