Who has the best rc model cad software?

I have been searching unsuccessfully for info regarding modelcad. I have found something called rc cad. Can somebody tell me wich is best? Is modelcad still available? Are there any other products offering rc enthusiasts cad design capabilities?

Thanks!

Upperspace Software bought out DesignCAd etc some years back. I've been using DCAD since around 92, IIRC. Tried ModelCAD once - it's a cut-down stunted runt of a thing, little different to use than the far more capable DCAD and far less capable. Right now, MCAD is $55, offer on the new release of DCAD is $100

I'm a long-time AutoCAD user, but among "affordably priced" CAD programs, TurboCAD seems to be by far the most capable. Pretty much all the functionality that you need for designing model aircraft is there, and you can buy it with confidence that it'll be supported in the long term.

I agree. I've been using TCad since it first came out and it's only getting better and better. I've used it to design both boats and planes and it fits me really well.

Used ModelCAD for about a year, then went to DesignCAD when I needed the extra features.

After about two more years, tried a TurboCAD (version 4, I think) free download. Loved it. I've now been using v6 for about 3 years and I'm very happy with it. Does everything I want, is easy to use, and total cost of all the versions TurboCAD for all that time has been $30 (I bought one upgrade about the time IMSI swallowed TurboCAD's previous owner).

TurboCAD v4.1 is downloadable at http://www.al-ki.com/tcad/download.php#HatchPatterns It's a FREE full featured program that's just an older release but will do anything you want short of 3D stuff and raster/vector conversion.
