I'm currently using a 900 MHz system with the Vee antenna on the plane and BiQuad and Omni diversity at base. This system will get you out past your standard/stock transmitters 1 mile to 1.5 mile range. I built both myself using ibcrazys DIY.

From what I'm seeing his new designed antennas are rock solid. I just read on one of his threads a guy with his system went out to 30km with solid video!
Here's his blog which has links to all his DIY...he also sells the antennas if you just wanna buy em.

Ibcrazy newly designed antennas; for plane Cloverleaf and Helical antenna for ground station. Some are also using another cloverleaf for the second diversity antenna. This is one of my next builds.

The system you ordered will do FPV just fine. IMO the 900mhz has less interference, at least in my area. A 200mW system would be fine to use as long as you stay within the control range of your stock transmitter and upgrade the two antennas to at least a Vee and patch or BiQuad. If you plan on going further then that look at a 500mW or 800mW for medium range from 2 miles to about 4 with a hacked radio.

Thanks, Hummm,,,I was thinking to change to 900 MHZ 200mW, because of the great information I a found here and antenna constrution,,,,,,,,my order was cancelled and is pending for a desicion, the airframe will be the blixer, so I need what fits in it and is the best from HK, up to 2 miles range is sufficient for me with 9CAP futaba radio and PCM receiver,,,,,
What to do,,,,,

I think the angle you have it mounted at was throwing me off a little.

You'll might like the results better if you put it on the nose..

Ya you can get it at HobbyKing...the video I posted on page one was recorded with the Wingcam. The FOV is 120 which is great for FPV. The only thing better is the GoPros 170 FOV!

Thats my cam, is really good for the price, I noticed that to see like HD, is better to copy the video to the PC and not direct from the Micro SD into the camera, the videos are big in AVI so go for 4gb SD and up.

And for the motor, should I change the motor due the extra weight? if so some people recommended the Turnigy 2835-3900KV with 6x4 APC but is inrunner, I think the stock motor is outrunner, more power is a must in FPV for the Bixler? should I need to separate the frames to installing it? or the stock motor with 6x4 APC ist OK. , what motor do you have in your Bixler,,
Thanks
werner

I'm still running the stock motor with a 6x4 APC and its a little under powered for all the FPV gear IMO. I fly around a lot of trees and need that extra thrust at time just to get up and clear em. My current set up take some space to get up off the ground. I'm wanted to try a 3900kv and put my GOPro without the hard case and see if it will work.

I have this motor mount. I haven't tried it yet but from what I hear it works well and allows easy on off of motor.
