I believe that the color is derived from the paper and not the foam. Probably more than a $1 a sheet.

Ken I saw a model that was Black and Yellow that was made from Readi-Board. I was told that the paper was left on the Foam. So, the last time I built a model using Readi-Board (with the paper left on), I painted it. Readi-Board does not like paint! The Paint will separate the paper from the foam. So, I ask the guy with the Black and Yellow model how did he get the paint to work. He said that it was not painted, that the RB is available in different colors. He stated that his local Dollar Tree carried the RB in several different colors. I am assuming that if it came from the Dollar Tree that it cost a Dollar a sheet. Just trying to share the information that I have, because like everyone in this Thread I too want a usable Foam to build with

That is interesting Bobby. I was under a different impression, but you have experience.

Had more contact with Adams in response to a proposal sent to them. More information is forthcoming in the next week. I believe we are making progress.

I even had to do the research to confirm that Adams had other colors of the RB! Hey, in this Hobby in these Threads we can learn something new every day

In Massachusetts where I live, there is no more good fan fold available. The only thing that Home Depot offers now is the Pink Owens Corning fan fold. Lowes offer Pactiv mint colored fan fold. I need foam. So no mater what the result of the sample run is.... I WANT SOME!

I don't care if has skin or not, wavy or not, I'll make it work so long as it is white. I had wanted to build some 1/4 scale size models over the winter.......no foam so far, still looking. I may buy a case of $Tree foam today to see if it will work in the meantime.

I hope everything pans out for you guys and you make it happen. Once the word is out, you won't have problems selling it. Everyone pays stupid money for depron sheets and kits. Anything reasonable will sell. Best of luck to your efforts!

Is the pink 1/4" or 5/8" The pink stuff around here is 3/8" and although it is only about an 1/8" difference it is about 50% more and the weight does add up.

The Lowe's in Tifton, Georgia at the intersection of I-75 and US82 has a few packs of PBIII. I bought one and I think there are 4 more. Was about $38.

Bob,

I always test the peelability of the skin on a corner before I buy. I still have some sheets of pink from a bundle purchased last year. It was taking 20 min. just to get the skin off. Coming off in little pieces. Costing too much in time to make it worthwhile.

Yes I did. In fact that is my video. With the current Dow High Performance Underlayment. I can strip both sides inside of 60 sec.

I have had some pink strip very cleanly, but other bundles were a real pain.

Thanks for your Participation!

Good News Guys! The manufacturer has indicated they will provide quotes for our sample run within 2 weeks. If we procure the sample run, I hope many of you will purchase samples and provide feedback early next year. This would not have been possible without the participation and discussion of all of you in this thread. Hopefully, 2012 will be a very good year for foamie builders!

RJKIRK...FYI they have indicated they can box 16 2'X4' sheets per box and they will quote boxed and bundled product in minimum and larger order quantities.
