I was told not to get a gas powered car because I will have to work on it all the time. That I should get a electric car. He also says the electric car is faster than the gas car. What do you think?

Once you learn the quirks of gas powered cars and buy good quality, maintenance becomes easier. But, it is a significant learning curve. Electric is a lot easier and faster. Electric motors develop torque instantly. They don't need the gearing gas powered cars need.

There's more maintenance and mess in nitro than with electric, but its so much fun when you get the engine set right and tear things up with it.

I would say it all depend's i used to be heavy into the nitro side. But than i lived in the country, now that I am a little older,have a daughter and live in town i just cant bring myself to do nitro. The smell , the sound is great! The nuisance tuning the clean up not so much! Decide what you want and go from there Electric has come along way than it was in the past.

There's a big difference between nitro and gas in maintenance... in your other thread you're asking about 1/5th scale cars, is that what you're after for this as well?

Electric will likely be faster, but you'll get more run time with a 26cc gasoline engine.
