What's up Manta! You will have to get one. I don't see you being without one.
The silver is sweet! I'm looking at the Motrofly as well.

really like the racing canopy. Reminds me of the full scale Red Bull air frames.

When running a DLE 30 will you have to cut out the cold air induction scoop on the bottom of the cowl?

I went back ond forth yesterday between the silver and red. I love that silver and ..hehe..wish it was only in silver. But I like the red and that sort of 87 extra look. I think it looks less racey red, but still nice.

Seems like everyone is going for the 8S setup. Will the 6S deliver the performance I wonder?

depends on the all up weight...
my 70" Slick on 6s is great. It's a 9.1lb plane. My 68" Velox is also awesome on 6s, it's about 8.6lb.
I had a 72" Extra 330 SC that was about 9.6lb, and it was starting to get marginal on 6s. It would pull out of a hover and do any 3d move you wanted, but there were times I wanted just a little bit more oomph out of it. It was drawing about 2250 watts, which is a bit over 100 amps. That's quite a lot of amps, and I generally feel better keeping the amps under 100, so if the plane is under 9.5lb I'm going to stick with 6s. If it's 9.75lb or more then I'm going 8s. I'd really like it to be a 6s plane since I already have all those batteries, plus I like the simplicity of 6s, one battery to charge, one battery to strap in, etc.

I have no doubt that my Motolfly 4325-380 swinging a 19x10 APC prop will be all the power anyone would need on this plane.

It was a rocketShip on a 71" Slick, and with this plane having a smaller cross-Section? and thinner wings!!!

Oh know!! 8s vs 6s!!

Simple for me, all my 25% planes are 8s, sticking with that. But going to try a 12l instead of a 14l on this one. Should have more kick than than the 14l in my Extra.

Great info! And yes, the simplicity of 6S sounds appealing for sure. Plus the packs are cheaper!

I've been wondering the same thing myself.

I've got a shiny DLE 30 sitting here waiting for an airframe. Might have to be this one!!! I've been ready for the edge for a while... now I just need to let go of the funds...

possibly. it's about the only reservation I have in setting one up for gas... but I will, a smoking Edge will be a pile of fun.

I'd like to do dle30 with smoke too, on this size airframe would smoke and fuel go one in front of the other (cg)? Also does the omega canister setup allow for smoke or would you need stock mufflers?

would be trying to put it as near the CofG as possible. will sort out the options as soon as mine arrives.

canisters don't get as hot as mufflers, so may need something to pre-heat the oil. I'm going to be trying something with hose clamps and brass tubing to see if I can make something simple that heats the oil before hitting the exhaust...
