I was flying a 72" Extra with a lot of power (8S Hacker A60-6S) today with HS-7985MGs today, and they work just fine....but as noted, if you can afford a bit more, Then get the HS7955TGs, for Chief....OR, if you want Savox 1258TGs, then Aztech Aeromodel has them, and if you call Azhar, and tell him Steve Tillman sent you, he will give you a 15% discount on them....

Now that's a good deal! Very tempted! I'll be ordering the parts over the next month. I'll order servos this week or next week. Airframe should be here in early March by which time I should have all the equipment

Hey this may have already been touched, but I noticed you said you are going to run a 6 Cell set up. When I called Ken at Sub Sonic he told me that he has never had a 5320 run on 6 cell. I just bought the Hacker A60 6XS and run a 21x10 Prop and I am very happy with power. I also have 7955 in my plane (And what a difference they really do make! Good luck with your set up

Is there a reason to go with the 7954's over the 7985's? I'm only planning on running 6s for the foreseeable future. 1 local guy (Ronbo) is using the 7985's and likes them. I'm just figuring for the extra $10 it might be worth it or is it a little overkill
I have a BEC Pro and ICE100 already. Just need to decide on the servos and motor. I think I'm going to go with the Motrofly 5320-330KV...again though wondering if the I should go with the Hacker A60-6XS...
Thanks for any advice.

Yes Sir! That is the Motor Ken recommended to me I just could not remember if it was the 4325 or 4330 So I did not want to say one or the other.

Futaba S9352HV- probably the best spec. But it's not brushless.
JR DS8711HV - it's bigger and slower but has a huge amount of torque.
MKS HBL950 - about normal size. It's brushless. Although speed and torque are less.

Thanks!
Don't do the JR's....their gears wear much faster than hitec's. I'd do the Hitec 7955's if you want to use them in a larger plane....otherwise, the Futaba High speed's that Joe uses are AMAZING in this 74...and would be useful and equally amazing in any other 30cc plane....

I wouldn't be flying electric if I wasn't able to do parallel charging. I have a PA Extra MX that uses two 2200mah 3S batteries in series per flight. I have five sets of these batteries, so 10 batteries in all. I use an iCharger 208B that can charge at up to 20A and I have 1 to 6 parallel cables for the deans and balance plugs. I routinely charge six of my 2200 3S batteries in parallel at 13.2A, which is 1C for six of these. For the Edge, I plan to buy probably three 5300mah 6S batteries and so I will be able to charge three of them in parallel (15.9A at 1C).

That's a great idea. I have the KMX and charging 12 packs is a pain.

The 208B is a 350watt charger IIRC so that will be 13.8A max. I use 2 206Bs and charge 2 at a time on each of them for my 6s 5300s

As kuczy said that's a great idea! I think I'll try that I'll need to be careful to get the same voltages on each pack I think. Beats buying more chargers, haha!

No need to worry....just plug, charge, fly, plug, charge, fly..... parallel charging is no problem, it soon becomes routine!
