Rain, Rain go away. Grounded for at least 5 days, and when the rain stops gusts up to 50mph good time to check glue joints. and drool over pics of sunny days

This is what I'm going with
4 x Hitec 7985MG
Hacker A60-6xs
Castle Ice 100
Castle Pro Bec
Xoar 20x10 prop
GensAce 6s 5300

I was thinking of going to the Xoar 21X10, but I'm not sure if the ESC could handle the extra load.
I fly that setup. I have no problems with the Xoar 21X10 and the Ice 100.

I added a little weight in the form of an A123 up front to balance it out better.
It's still floaty though.

2s or 3s A123? mAh? I'm planning on doing something similar Plane just arrived via UPS, so I know what I'll be doing this weekend

I fly a 2S 2300 A123 from EPBuddy. I mounted it on the motor box. Now my 6S battery isn't smashed up against the firewall for balance.

So is there an advantage over a LiFe verus LiPo? I understand that a 2S LiPo will be 8.4V charged while a 2S LiFe is 7.2V. Would you still use the CC BEC Pro with a LiFe battery? 7.2V is still too high for non-HV RX and servos, right? Been flying electric only for the past 6 years but only up to a 5 ft wingspan using the ESC's BEC only. This will be the largest plane I've ever had.

this is a hot topic, but it just depends on what you are comfortable with. If you are using non HV servos, then a 2s LiFe pack can be used without a reg, a 2s lipo cannot. however, if you are using HV servos, then both can be used without a reg and the 2s lipo will give you more torque and speed due to the higher voltage.

Nice to know the The Xoar 21x10 will work with the castle 100 and A60 6xs
Has anyone tried both? what are the advantages or disadvantages going to the 21 inch prop over the 20?

Another question - I like the Xoar white pnj-w Xoar prop but is espritmodel the only place that sells them? Even the Xoar website doesn't show them.in white with the red tips.

i flew blais's edge with both of them. he initially had the 20x10 on (correct me if im wrong steve) and it just wasnt enough. the 21x10 had much much more punch and made me more comfortable in the air. this is depending on setup, how fresh your packs are, etc. i have no clue what the battery state was, but it wouldnt hurt to try both props.

I tried both also, and the 21X10 just did it for me. More punch.

Personally, I like the 20x10 better. The 21x10 just kills the battery too fast for my liking. I have this on a extra so I might want the extra power on the heavier Edge. My extra is 9.8 lbs.

I fly with the 20X10 on my A60-6XS on my Slick, but different flying styles call for different set ups...

....moral of the story, buy a bunch of props and see what suits your flying style best. everyone flys differently and you wont know what you like best until you try multiple setups!
