Aww man, you didn't tell me about this little surprise. Looks like good weather this weekend, even though my project won't be done I'm hoping to at least take sunday off and possibly Saturday as well. I'll let you know if your interested in getting together. Lucky duck, if I ever kill my Slick I'm really thinking Edge as a replacement, after all I am an Edge loving guy.

I used to be a HK battery buyer but after trying a few of the packs mentioned above, I won't be going back. the price difference is negligible especially when I consider how many HK packs I got that either had a bad cell out of the box or developed one after only a few cycles.

just my experience so far.
I should have mentioned it but yes, I do use GensAce batteries and I love them too. One thing I like about them is even after three flying seasons and abusing them a little this last season (flying a little too long and letting them overdisharge to about 3.4v/cell), they never puff. Every HK Turnigy battery I see is extremely puffed.

It flew it good and tons of power, but in my opinion the Edge needs more prop. I also tried a 19x8 and 19x10 with the 6S and still think the 20x10 is awesome. The plane just locks into everything better.
With your 6S and 20x10 prop setup, does it hover easily at about half-throttle?

Hitec HS-7956SHR rudder servo

So Hitec is coming out with this new HS-7956SHR servo.

http://2bfly.com/newsstand/rc-flight...-rudder-servo/

It has pretty much the same specs as the HS-7955TG, but of course it's designed for rudder pull-pull setups. Sounds like it's going to be $150. Could the 74" Edge benefit from this? It's about 0.6 oz heavier, and I know the Edge comes out tail heavy as it is.

That's weird. Some guy is selling a motor just like this on the 3DHS Fanatics thread.

Since this servo is not designed to be used in the tail, it would not effect the balance very much at all. One thing of note about this servo is that it has steel gears, not titanium...

Also at this time they have not been released. I called the folks at Chief Aircraft and asked when it would be available, and was told they had no idea...

I asked Hitec at Toledo this year and they told me it was a 7954 with a secraft pull pull hardware built in. Like all things hitec, it is announced a year in advance. Still waiting on those brushless servos announced at Nuremburg in 2011.

I have my rudder servo in the tail on my 74. Push pull is that way to go on a gasser.

Yes, HUGE difference in a hover from the 18x8 to a 20x10. Mine hovers just under half throttle. With the 18x8 it would fall out fairly easy, the 20x10 holds it there with hardly any effort.

I mounted the OS GT33 to the firewall. Now I am trying to decide where I should put the throttle servo. I looked at Bivens but I planned on using a larger tank.
