I'll answer for him..... YES. I was looking for a missing part that fell off a plane the other day, when I looked down and noticed a baby rattle snake right next to my foot. Needless to say I freaked out a bit.

I bet!! And what a lot of people don't understand is that baby rattlers just as poisonous as a full grown one.....with the added danger that they don't have a rattle to warn you with...

Many years ago when I lived in Texas, I was headed out to a small lake to go fishing, and managed to step on a rattle snake...the only thing I could do to get away from it was to push the handle of my fishing pole down on it's head, and then jump away.....one very ticked off rattle snake, and one very scared schnittless guy....me!!

Prop Report

Had a blast yesterday dodging rain drops and trying out a new prop. Recently purchased a 20x6 Beechwood from Bob's Hobby Center. Found It to be easier to balance than other props I have tried recently, and was impressed with the lightness compared to similar props. I was able to achieve a stable idle@1600 rpm and a peak@ 7400, 22lbs of thrust measured with a fish scale. I think I am in love with this prop. Very controllable down lines, almost like having an air brake. Spools up nicely and excellent vertical pull out. Not much torque effect in hovers, but easy to start a slow torque roll.

I had a question. Does this plane use just one elevator servo or can you does it have a two servo option like the velox?

Velox only uses one elevator servo, and one is all this plane needs.

I will rephrase my question. Does it have the cut outs on both sides for the option of using two servos for redunancy reasons. The plane is on its way. I only ordered 4 servos and if it has the option I may put another one on order as well.

Yes, it is an option. 74 Edge has cutouts for dual elevator servos though I would not recommend it, at least for electric setups as you will most likely end up with an very rearward CG.

I have used both a single 985 and single 7955 in my Edge without issues. Simple, reliable, easy setup.

With a gas plane you will possibly be alright, but that said, the 74" Edge tends to come out tail heavy. I went with a heavy motor and batteries, and still ended up with 3oz of lead under the motor box to get it to balance, a second servo in the tail would definitely have made it too tail heavy. And really, again, if using good strong servos you don't need two for the elevator.

But....I think if you throw away the manual, move your batteries up all the way(8s for me), I know you have the heavy motor, mine is 20oz 5320, remove the 3oz of weight, you will be fine and your plane will be 3oz lighter.

If I recall you have only flown your 74 for a couple minutes. I probably have over 150 flights on mine with no weight. It's neutral enough for me.
