Looking at getting a new motor for my 74 Edge .Would the Motrolfly DM5320-330 work on 6s and 8s?

Haven't posted a flight vid since the maiden. Here's a quick video having some fun in Dublin, CA while visiting friends in the bay area.

Im sure it would. Its a bit bigger than the 4325-380 but the plane seems to be a bit tail heavy out of the box anyway. The 53 will give you the 8s option that isnt recommended on the 4325. You can always give Ken at Subsonic a call and get his recommendations on it.

Split_S Dave must not be around this weekend, or he'd of jumped in on this. Anyway, I got to check out his 74" Edge setup at the Tenn. Huckfest last month. I was surprise at how cool his Motrolfly DM5320-300 came down. It was just barely above ambient. From my notes Dave is running it on 8S 4000mAh and using a 19x10 prop.

5320 and or 4325 can go 8s no problem. 5320 balances better on the 74 edge, but I have flown a 4325 and it seemed ok to me balance wise, but ymmv.

works excellent with 8s and 8x8, 19x8. didnt have much luck with 6s, didnt have the right size prop. 7s though with a 19x8 was fun. ran all summer no problems. great motor. only if batteries lasted longer.

I have the 4325-310 spinning a 18x8, casle ice100, with 8s - 2 4s 5000mah 40c and it balances great with room to go either way. I love it I would like to try a 19x8 just to see how it feels

well put one on there.. check watts and amps, and temps after about 2 minutes of flight before keeping it. Sometimes in the winter you can prop up a tad due to cooler temps making packs less strong and also the cooler temps cooling the motors better

just got back from my first set of post break in mix flights. decided to go with a 32:1 mix. and to try a 19x8 prop. It is amazing how much the control authority and roll rates increase just by increasing the prop size 1 inch. i was able to obtain an idle of 1600 and a top end of 7200. crank case temps after 15 minutes of hard flying,(trying to imitate the redbull racers) was 118 f . cooling fins were 102, and the hottest part of the pipe was 189 good pull out of hovers, short take offs. Beautiful snap to hovers. need to go fly some more, maybe think about touching needles again.

No doubt the 4325 will fly the edge just fine. I am running a 4325-450 on 6s with an 18x8 and has good power but not insane (its parts I had in a 70" slick). If I were to start fresh with gear I would of gone bigger on a motor because I had to add a bunch of dead weight. Going with a bigger motor at least the weight is doing something for you. One thing though is I am about as light as you can get and the thing flies like a giant foamy, which is a lot of fun, I still would of gotten a bigger motor though.
