Punch out of a hover is adequate (but not ballistic) with A50-12L. I have the same A50-12L/Xoar 20x10/6S5300 combination in mine. My flying style is a mix of 3D, slow flight, and precision. The A50-12L flys fine, but not enough power IMO, particularly when performing multiple elements on an upline, continuous in-place waterfalls, etc.

You can achieve a slightly forward CG if you use a 2S or 3S1300 flight pack with the BEC pro.

Good question. And what batterys. I have a couple brand new hyperions on 8s and also have some 2 year of the same. I've never tested but I bet the new batts are worth a real 300-400 watts. hehe, 74 was jumpy the first flight! But the old ones still have plenty for me. I like good power but don't really need insane.

Oh heck yes!!! A60-6XS if you want to go 6S, A60-5S if you want to go 8S

so i come home from work to find a rather large brown box upon opening the box i am greeted with another box. after opening that box what do i find but yet 1 last box and in it is a shiny new os gt33. if i only had longer bolts for my standoffs i could go fly tomorrow oh well more time to recheck for loose glue joints after 129 flights.now if i could only find a home for my sexy fly 5320

what i have but never put a meter on it. what brand of batterys?

Looks like that's the way I'll go. I have a new Katana MX coming in the mail Monday, so at least I'll have something to fly until the Edge's are back in stock at 3DHS

Cool...I got the 300kv on a 20 x 8 pulling around 88 amps and ~2600 watts...tried a 20 x 10 and the batts couldn't handle it (25C batts) or the ESC probably for that matter...over 100 amps and over 3000 watts...maxed both watt meter and ESC so I backed off to the 20 x 8...5320 took it no problem on the run up...it was cold, the batt wires were HOT in only about 8-10 secs of testing...

sky lipos from hobby partz, work great awsome set up, just limited run times, 129 flights and less than 15 hours in the air. its time to go gas

whoever had the brilliant idea to make the mounting holes for the extension box, the same as a dle 30, i thank you for the easy conversion,
step 1 unbolt electric extension box
step 2 bolt gt 33 in place.
ill have to figure the rest out latter

I may never figure out the Hacker motor numbering scheme.....A50, A60, A60xs...blah...blah...blah.... I suppose I've never had enough of them. I do know every plane I've seen with that new A60-something....has plenty of juice.

I must admit to the same my friend....I used to think that the 40-50-6 etc, stood for the diameter of the motor....but that is clearly not the case....I guess I'll have to give Mike a call and ask him.....

so i got my os gt33 mounted and ready to go:Make it out to the rc club, only to realize that i left my aileron extensions at home. well i at least got to run a tank of gas through it, and mess with the carb settings. i can not wait to fly this engine, bench running, it seems to pull better than my 5320. and for some reason i am really good at getting this engine to run backwards

Bump up the idle a bit when your trying to start it.

Helps a lot.
