I don't know the actual diameter, but the wheels seem to stick out pretty far from the wheel pants on my plane. Possibly you could drill new holes and raise the wheel pants a little bit?

Steve,

I've gone off the runway and into the desert rocks a few times, and mine are still in pretty good shape. You should be ok.

I fly mine off of grass fields with no issues. I thought about increasing the wheel diameter by 0.5" but haven't felt the need to do so yet.

I thought so.....

Yup...I have, (I believe) the wrong wheels in my 74" Edge. I just opened the hardware pack for my 71" Slick, and the wheels for that are much larger. Can't see where they would use smaller wheels on the Edge, than the Slick....Oh well....I'll just order some new ones. I don't have my 4400mAH packs yet anyway....

Drat!! Just checked and they are out of stock!!!

You can go up to 3.25" wheels easy if you want to on 7x" planes.

Got some stock ones on the way.....

But may look at some alternatives too....I knew darn well that 2.5" wheels/tires were not what was supposed to be in my kit....

Not sure about that...2.5's maybe what IS stock.....I know mine are smallish on the 74 too...but they work fine for me in grass.

Hotay....I guess I just like larger wheels....

The problem for me is that the back of the wheel pants barely clear the ground, and I know the front of the wheel pants will rub on the ground if you try to push/pull the plane by lifting the tail....

My wheel pants barely clear in the back too and the spinner hits the ground before the fronts of them hit. But the tail cant drop anymore than it does at static so no problems with that. I havent measured my stock wheels but 2.5" looks about right. I think if i go mpi alum wheels i will go with 2.75 at most. My wheel pants were damage free after 60 flights until i went it the the wheat field and one broke by catching and rotating. So since i fly off pavement always i dont see much need to go bigger.

Went to a fun fly today...electric before lunch...flights on the 46,48's,62, and 65......then I flew the 74 in the afternoon after a Leccy morning....I love my GT33! This plane is SO good on 33cc's with HV 7955's!!! One of my favorites for SURE!! I just smile everyone I get this plane out...so much power, RIPS the 18x6w Falcon prop...awesome throttle response, and 12:30 flight timer with plenty of fuel remaining in my 10oz tank...a winning setup for sure!
