This would give me four more ounces which would allow the packs to be moved back a little...and would also give me more flying time....Oh well...what the heck...it's only money.....right??

It's interesting to see the variances in this airplane. I'm using 4000 4s Gens 25c and I can balance on the wing tube with the 2 packs about an inch off the fire wall.

Assuming you are using the pull pull on rudder, yes?

Ken, I'll give you mine.
You'll have to come get them.

I use Gens and Skys almost exclusively, but Thunder Power are typically much lighter. I never realized it until I was trying to add some flight time to one of my setups. A 5S 6600 25C TP is just one oz heavier than a 5S 5500 25C Gens, for example, but the price difference was $230 versus $100. Needless to say, I'm carrying the extra weight.

ugh, more weight. My fav is still my 70 with a 12.5oz motor. 8s 3800 in the middle(flew it once with a pair of 2500 hyperions...hoot!). No idea "where" the CG is, packs about 2-3" from the tube. But it flys neutral. Put it in the air and see where it is. Remember it's an AJ plane so a little nose heavy design.

The edge is a Stoops design...I have found that all 3 of the 30cc stuff fly mucho better nose heavy vs tail heavy!

If you are using one 1800mAh Life, I would consider 1260mAh as a safe capacity to use, so 21 minutes, or three 7-minute flights. I would try flying it for two minutes and recharge and keep track of what you put back. You may get as many as 8 flights from it, but check first to see what your personal usage is.

You can also do it on the ground by plugging in the Rx with the main battery off the plane for safety and moving the sticks around like a madman for a full minute, then recharge. Whatever you put back, divide 1260 by that amount and this will give you the number of minutes you can fly with that battery.
thanks looks like i will have to mess with it i want to run life unregulated but i am going to run a wike ibef from TBM with my dle30 and i am using 4 hs 5945mg and a high speed throttle servo....just want to make it as light as possible without using regulators

I use the LiFe without regulators on AR7000 and 9100 and would not consider them unless I went to LiPo with HV servos, which I have not done yet. I'm still using the JR 8611A, but for this plane, I'd probably go with the Savox SC-1258TG.

4.75" is right at the front of the wing tube. My plane does balance on the wing tube, but the packs are against the firewall, so no room for adjustment....

4S 45C 3850 packs on the way back to Thunder Power, and 4S 45C 4400mAH ordered. Just over four ounces more weight (to help with CG) and longer flight times....a win/win I believe...

I think you'll be happier! My batts are at the firewall, so I'm really happy that I like the way she's flying now with the current CG.
