Between my son and I, we have three "Veloxi". I have a flying Red/yellow/black one, My son has a Blue/silver/white one, that was recently flown into a tree, and I am repairing it, (see this post), and a NIB Red/yellow/black one..... So, yes, I am aware of how well they fly...

hehe Shhhhhh, missing from the pic is the other 71, i keep it in houston. Wish I would have progressed a little faster to this point. Still have 2 T-28's though.

Ok back to the Edge, mine 100% done.

Weight, I get 8.1#, My favorite packs are 1.7#.

The spacers that come with the hacker are perfect...use them.

Some wing comparisio, I think the order 1, 70 slick, 2, 72 SC, 3, Edge.

Just need to set the throws, maiden still a ways out.

Side by side the 71 slick looks MUCH bigger than the 72SC. Its only shorter in wing span by 1/2 inch and the slick is just as long as the sc. The slick stands higher and has a taller fuse too.

So the 8.1 lb is without batteries I assume?
What equipment are you running in yours? 8s? I think you mentioned that, and a hacker A50-12L right?
What servos? Any BEC, or anything else extra?

12l, ice100, ef spinner, bec pro, 4 align ds610, orange rx, so add a few grams for the ar6210...soon to arrive. turnigy 18x8(all I had). All I can think of, connectors, bullets, velcro, etc.

yep, 8.1 no battery. so just under 10# The batterys are a pair of hyperion 4000.

I think 8s is gonna be the ticket then, that build is pretty similar to what mine will be.
My 72" SC was about 9.5lb and was pretty borderline *for me* (I like a lot of power )
so I think if these are up in the 9.75lb range that 8s is a much better match on it. Plus I already have an HV110 with BEC Pro on it to use
Just need to buy some 4s4000 packs it looks like.

Yep....High-alpha is NO problem on the airframe...but given yesterday's forced landing, I'm building my confidence in my tuning ability.....I flew several more flights after this....no engine troubles.....I suppose I just need to put time on it.....a friend at our field said I should see the break-in progress and a need to change the tune after a few gallons. I didn't notice much change in my DA120's...but I did on my DLE111.....we will see.

I'm still getting used to how FAST an 8oz fuel tank fills.

As for the flight times.....on the 8oz fortitude tank...with a lot of wide open flight...I'd land after about 7min and have about 3/8 tank remaining.
