Poll
What frequency are you using? do you like it? why?

Just curious to see which frequency people are using for their video link.

Do you like it? why or why not?

Is there a frequency that you can't use in your area?

I use 900mhz and 2.4 ghz. 900mhz works great out in the country, but closer to the city where i live, there is alot of interference. 2.4ghz works better here.

I like them both. If there wasn't so much RF in my area on 900mhz, it would likely be the only freq i use.

I have 910/1280/2400/5800. I've yet to use the 5.8 but 910 is useless here as there's two 500w HDTV links here that beam over my flying sites on 930 and 945 and wipe out my RXs. 1280 is flawless anywhere I fly, 2400 can work most anywhere if you're willing to go out of band. I'm under the assumption 5.6-5.8 should work well most everywhere too as long as you use circular polarization. I like 2.4 most simply because of TX antenna size.

Probably 900. the range and strong video signal is really nice. the interference problems are definitely a concern, but they aren't to bad if they are prepared for accordingly.

my next purchase will likely be 1.2/1.3ghz, to see what all the rage is about.

I like 1280mhz because it has good penetration and only HAM users are allowed to use it. Ofcourse the military is allowed to use any HAM frequencies if there is an emergrency though . I live in greater london and I used to have expensive 5.8ghz kit but it worked poorly here and the LOS frequency didnt help things either. 2.4ghz would not be a good choice here and 900mhz is used for mobiles too so really my only choice is 1.3ghz and it seems to work well. Also another good thing about it is 1280mhz seems to be available in the U.S and probably a lot more countries.

I've used all 4 bands and 1280Mhz is the best around an urban area.
910Mhz worked fine far from the city, but was totally thrashed by urban Rf noise.
2.4ghz video is thrashed by the control systems of fellow RCers. The "out of band"
channel that many people use is just that. Outside the legal 2.4Ghz band, and many
video Tx/Rx don't support it. Doesn't seem to be anything else there though.
5.8Ghz works ok, but range is very short.

900mhz. I like it. No issues and the antennas are really easy to make.

the issue I have is the size of the antennas... I would love to go CP but a 900mhz cp would never fit on my Funjet.

i like 5.8 and 1.2/3

I don't find rf to be such a very big issue even on 2.4 (i fly in the city), but, 1.2 goes even better through stuff and 5.8 is tiny, which is handy as well.

(oh and not using 900 cause not legal here)

I've seen it. Infact the owner of said funjet was kind enough to give me a CP for my 900mhz apprentice
