An Obama administration good news story

After years of stonewalling by successive administrations, the long running campaign for payment of monies owed to the Montana tribe for resources taken from them has been awarded - a cool 3.5 BILLION USD!

The largest payout of its kind ever!

I expect the only good news about the Obama Administration to come around November 2012.

This is one that he can put on the wall and say 'I did that'

Apalling that it took until this administration to be sorted though!

Was that borrowed yesterday, today, or will it be Monday since that is about one day that we will have to borrow 7.5 billion instead of just 4. It will be paid off about the time the world ends....but no problem for the piss our money president.

I've no idea what you're saying Lyle (nothing fresh there but we live in hope...)

The lady in question sued the government and won - the money is owed!

No surprise there. Obama is all about taking people's money and giving it to others.

I'm not sure what you're saying - are you saying that the money shouldn't have been paid and the debt left dishonoured

Since ET can't post his own links, here is what he's talking about http://www.nytimes.com/2011/06/21/us.../21indian.html

Not sure how Obama gets credit for this one, other than the fact that he did use a pen to sign off on the congressional approval of settlement of a 15-year long case.

But hey, he got a Nobel for future acts, so maybe this was one of them.

Thank you - isn't this front page in the USA then (oh no - silly me - that'll be the Jackson trial )!

Considering this story is from June - no, it's not on the front page.

Funny but that seems how man's economy works. When spending stagnates, so do the paydays. It's weird thing, like pumping the pond back up to the mountain stream and as it flows back down it provides a drink for those along it. It will never dry out, the miracle rain refils the whole thing.

While you may call the taxes I pay "miracle rain", all I see is my money being used as a different kind of miracle rain, that is, the kind of miracle rain that results from my money being pissed into the wind by Democrats.

But then again, we were all told in '08 that Obama The One could do miracles.
I just never thought that pissing into the wind would be rated as a miracle.

I'd rather see American Natives receive compensation for the loss of their land than toss that amount out for a couple of airplanes.
Make good use of the money, send your children to school or some thing like that !

The bit of the story we got here was news from today - not sure why

Perhaps the item was a retrospective on the bravery and tenancity of the lady who stuck with the campaign despite decades of stonewalling!
