Well I am getting started on my Y650 Scorpion! I did finish up the Quad with the new NAZA Control Board, and I am impressed! I am going to orser up another one for the Scorpion. This thing was so stable right out of the box with no tuning what so ever. Sort of expensive, but for me it is well worth the money.

Here are a couple of photos of the Quad and my Scorpion.

Like the new arms on the Quad Rob. Bet you can't bend those ones. That pole needs to look out for you now....

Yes! The arms on the DJI Quadcopters are supposed to be indestructible! I need all the help I can get! I went through the same thing when I was learning fixed wing! But! I will learn to fly these things come H or High Water!

Baca,

Very nice flying Scorpion! May I ask what Control Board you are using to get such stable flight? Really like the V-Tail design you came up with!

Hey that's great! Nice job!

No I have a hankering to take mine out for a few loops around the block... but it's so windy... and cold... maybe later.

Baca,

Is that the same as the KK2.0 Board? I have a NAZA system on my Quad and I am not getting that type of stability! How much stick action are you providing to keep it that stable?

I guess I just need to get as much stick time as possible and learn how to fly it like I
did fixed wing! Below is a photo of the progress that I have my Y650 Scorpion! Just hope I can get it to fly as well as yours!!

Hey Baca,

Why go with a V-Tail on the scorpion? Does it provide more stability, or more responsiveness?

Great flying and camera work. I keep playing your first video of your Scorpion when it is cold, wet, and windy here.

Because I can Never try V tail before and looks like good frame to experiment with.I did try Y4 first and was not happy. V tail have a very sharp reaction to the rudder. I put smaller props at the back and that soften yaw a bit. Front props 10" back 8"

I do like the look of the V-Tail on the Scorpion frame. The configuration also improves on a few of the weak points of the hex configuration. Like having less weight with only four motors and ESCs, and no props on the bottom to break. Always something to tinker with in this Hobby.

Need to flash my KK2 to 1.4. Still on 1.2.

Happy flying Baca.
