I have a friend who is wanting to get into the hobby and so I am trying to get him a reasonable setup that he can test the waters with, get a feel for flying/gliding, learn the ropes, and not need a major repair job or be out a wad of cash in the event of a less than ideal landing.

The main focus would be slope/slermaling so it does not have to be electric but an electrics might be nice when starting off as getting skunked due to poor weather cooperation is never fun especially when you've just caught the bug.

Glider aside, I am also looking to get him a Spectrum or JR radio of at least a DX6i caliber or better. I'd love to get a bargain combo deal for around $200, but that's flexible probably upwards to around $300 depending on what’s being offered.

I am also interested in getting a Spectrum/JR trainer cable.

I've got an Easy Star RTF w/ 72MHz Hitec Neon and an Electric Easy Glider Rx Ready that might fit the bill

Added a pix of the Dark Star and E-Easy Glider

I have a Easy Pro 55 EPP Glider, aileron version which can be flown without ailerons to start. Its from windrider.com.hk
NIB with a extra fuse so you can build a powered and unpowered version.
Very very easy build and I could even build it for you if you wish.

This is the perfect trainer as it's EPP and will lead into ailerons as one progresses.

Hi Wheeler, thanks for the encouragement. If the opportunity presents itself I will be sure to put my buddy through the proper hazing procedures. I'm not quite sure if you were offering an actual plane or just the recommendations and encouragement, but if you were can you please clarify which plane or equipment you were offering.
