Micro TRITON Seaplane " Video on Post #1 "

Attached you will find a picture Build Log for the New Micro TRITON Seaplane
that I have designed.
I hope you will enjoy this thread as much as I enjoyed designing and building this little cork.

1. Remove Bulkheads F1 thru F5 from Lazer cut 2mm Depron sheet.

2. Fold over the Bulkhead Stiffeners on F1 thru F5.

3. Glue Stiffeners to Bulkhead, F1 thru F5 .

4. Note : Each Bulkhead had the word FRONT marked on it. These marking should be turns towards the nose of the aircraft when installed.

5. Note : from this point on Kicker for CA glues should NOT be used. Locate and Test fit each Bulkhead in respective location.

6. Glue into place Bulkheads F1 thru F5 in their respective slots.
Again, Note the direction of the FRONT markings.

7. Carefully, fold the Fuselage sides over the Bulkheads and fit the tabs into the notches on the opposet side of fuselage.

8. Glue Bulkheads into place on opposet side of fuseladge.

9. Gluing F1 into front of fuselage.

10. Gluing rear of fuselage together.

11. Center supports of Bulkheads F2, F3, and F4 can be remover at this time.

12. Test fit the plywood Battery Tray into place. It will rest on the top enter edge of F1 and the top center support area of F2.

13. Glue plywood Battery Tray into place.

14. Clean the slot for cable tube on each side of vertical fin.

15. Glue the two halves of vertical fin together and sand to shape.

16. Glue vertical fin perpendicular to fuselage. Note : cable tube path.

17. Parts for one Wing Float.

18. Assembled Wing Floats. Note : one left and one right assembly.

19. Over all appearance at this point should look like this.

20. Parts required for wing half.

21. Form the airfoil by rolling the wing half over a piece of dowel or anything round and smooth, like a broom handle. The sloted side of the foam should be down. Use light to medium preassure with your fingers as you roll the wing accross the dowel several times.

22. Glue the airfoil ribs perpendicular to the bottom of each wing half using the tabs and slots. Note : the open slot for Wing Float, to glue later.

23. Bring two wing halves together. Sand adjoining ribs lightly to adquire about 1/2" dihedral at wing tip. Glue wing halfs together at this time.

24. Glue Wing Floats to wing.

25. Wing assembly after sanding.

26. Glue 1mm Carbon Rod stiffener into slot of Horizontal Stab.

27. Glue Vertical Tips at ends of Horizontal Stab.
Bevel the leading edge of Elevator at a 45 degrees on the bottom side. Us Blenderm tape to attach the Elevator to the Horizontal Stab.

28. Clean slots of Motor Pylon ( FOAM 2 ) for Motor Wires to pass through later.

29. Glue the Motor Pylon foam to each side of Motor Pylon plywood ( PLY 1 ).
Note : Do Not Glue Motor Cover assembly ( FOAM 3 ) and ( FOAM 4) to Motor Pylon at this point. Note : Left and Right Motor Covers.

30. Glue the Motor Gearbox to Motor Pylon.
Recommended equipment :
GWJ 7mm Gearbox w/ 4:1 ratio
BSD SS Black 1.1 ohm Motor
GWS EP-3030 Prop

31. Install two .015 music wire Z-bend pushrods wires into AR6400 Receiver servo arms.

32. Fit the Receiver with Pushrods into the Fuselage. Note : leave clearance for Receiver to operate properly.

33. Glue Receiver in place with UHU por No.:40359 contact adhesive.
Note : foam Cross Support is from scrap foam.

34. Bring Battery Connector through Battery Tray opening.

35. Make outlet opening for Rudder Cable Tube.

36. Approximate location of Cable Tubes and Connections.

37. Cable Tube path and connections. Note : Glue Tubes in place with UHU. Do Not connect Cables to Pushrods at this point.

38. Make Rear Bottom Plate from Scrap foam and Glue in Place.
Note : Sand bottom edges of Fuselage perallel to each other.

39. Sand to shape as shown.

40. Glue Rudder Fin to Rear Bottom Plate.

41. Attach Rudder with Blenderm Tape.

42. Connect Cable to small Z-bend and locate desired Control Horn position.
Note : then insert Cable into Tube and Glue Control Horn into position.

43. Sand center bottom edges of Fuselage perallel to each other.

44. Glue Center Bottom Plate into position.

45. Trim away excess Foam.

46. Sand Bottom Plate flush with sides. Note : A peace of paper Tape will help to keep from damaging the Fuselage sides.

47. The Fuselage should now appear as thus. Note : leave the Front Bottom Plate OFF till the motor has been plugged into the RX brick.

48. Fit the Wing Assembly into place making sure the Wing is perpenduclar to all Center Lines of the Fuselage.

49. Now Glue the Wing Assembly into place.

50. Make and fit the Windshield from Scrap foam.

51. Glue Windshield into place.

52. Battery Hatch cover made from Scrap foam. Note : slightly over size will sand later.

53. Sand top edges of fuselage Battery Hatch area parallel to each other.

54. Set Battery Hatch Cover into place and sand even with sides.

55. Locate Motor Pylon position on wing and make small hole for Motor Wires to pass thru to Receiver. Glue Pylon into Place now. Note : Thrust Line of Motor is 0-Degrees.

56. Glue Motor Covers to Motor Pylon assembly. Note : Glue lightly, you may want to access motor area in future.

57. Re-solder Motor Wires to Plug.

58. Install Plug into Receiver.

59. Check Directional Rotation of Prop. Note ; Reverse Plug if necessary.

60. Glue Horizontal Stab assembly to Vertical Fin making sure it is Parallel and Square to the wing.

61. Connect Cable to small Z-bend and locate desired Control Horn position.
Note : then insert Cable into Tube and Glue Control Horn into position.

62. Glue Elevator Cable Cover together. Then Remove the Center Foam to allow it to slip over the Elevator Cable Tube.

63. Glue Elevator Cable Cover into place.

64. Adjust and Connect Pushrods to Control Cables. Note : Make Sure every thing is working Properly. ( You are about to close up the bottom of your aircraft.)

65. Sand front bottom edges of Fuselage parallel to each other. Glue Front Bottom Plate into correct position.

66. Trim away excess Foam. Sand Bottom Plate flush with sides. Note : Again a peace of paper Tape will help to keep from damaging the Fuselage sides.

67. Rough Shape a solid foam Nose Block and Glue in place.

68. Trim excess Foam of Nose Block away.

69. Sand Nose Block to final shape.

70. Paint and Trim as desired. Note : I used Apple Barrel Gloss Acrylic Paint for color and Black Vinyl for trim on my Triton.
