Actually, most of those prices compare pretty closely to USA prices - unless I am reading something wrong.

Last week I had the bad luck of my GWS TM400 that I have flown for 7 years , off and on , fly off out of sight doing big loops , out of my control , blown out over a woods by the wind , far away .

I already had a new TM400 in the white ordered from GWSPROPS.com , and it was just delivered , reading this forum had caused me to order this new TM 400

How do I tell if its the old EPS foam , or the NEW EPO foam ?

There was NOT the tube of glue in this brand new lookng box , that used to be in the old TM400 planes box . The box and everything in this box , looks new and fresh to me . ?

You should be able to tell by the look and feel of it. The old foam was grainy and rough feeling. The EPO is much smoother.

Sorry you lost the old Moth - you had that one a long time

I haven't seen any EPO Moths advertised yet.
GWS hasn't been including the glue for a while now.

The EPO foam is with shinier and a little smoother surface than the old EPS one, while EPO is heavier by 20% or more. And better to clean its outer surface by alcohol before painting it.

I have an EPS and an EPO Zero. I like the old foam Zero better. The Zero is a little quirky to get right but I had to add more nose weight to the EPO, heavier tail I suppose, which made the plane even heavier.

That's the reason I stocked up on the EPS Mosa while I could.

I would think the extra weight of the new foam would not hurt the performance of the Moth 400, Stearman or Big Mosa much. They have enough wing on them to carry the weight, I would think.

The WWII Warbirds and the small Mosa would probably notice the weight more

Look for the barcode tag on the end of the box, If it's EPO it'll tell you there. If it doesn't say anything then it's probably EPS. The more recent boxes are mostly plain white with an artwork label on the end, where you should find the barcode tag.

EPO foam is stonger than EPS one, covering its surface completely by clear tape could make it much stronger. The foam itself will not be melted easily by ordinary CA glue and oil/thinner based paints, while the normal water based paints will be weathered easily on it.

Working from home today so I just took a break to try the Mosa in some winds. Probably up around 12 - 15 mph - more than I usually fly in. I just don't really enjoy flying these little planes in winds over 10mph.

That said, she did fly pretty well, although she bounced around some.

It's always a challenge to find good flying here at this time of year. And I always wonder if I should just force myself to adjust to more wind. But it just isn't that much fun for me and the risk to the planes goes up, I think.

Other than the Mosa, my Moth 400, Stearman and Pico Moth have been pretty much grounded by the winds lately. Still working slowly on the Mosa 2 and the Beaver, but not making a ton of progress on either.

The P-40 should show up this week - I might divert the building to that one and come back to the others later.

Hope you guys are getting better flying weather than I am.

I had just posted the previous post when the P-40 showed up. This model is very nicely packaged - an improvement for sure over the old GWS packaging.

Looks like a fun build - all parts seem to be in perfect condition.

Thanks for the information about EPS or EPO , it appears that this TM400 is EPS , which I am really happy with because of its lightness in weight .
And I will really be happy if I get to fly it for 7 years like the previous one

Yeah there seems to be a lot of interest in getting the old foam planes before they are gone for good. Hope you do get another 7 years out of this one.

I don't have many planes that old, except a couple of Pico Moths - any plane that lasts that long has paid many dividends on the initial investment.

Wind dropped a little so I managed to sneak in 2 more Mosa flights before dark

Yep, wind dropped down here today too.
Had a meeting and the park was near by.
Tossed my Slow Stick in the car as I don't know if a small field or the big one will be available.

Turned out the big one was open but had two nice 15min flights.
