My experience with the Firepower motors has not been the best. They appear to be of similar design and spec as the motors marketed as Neodym here in the States. They were some of the first economically priced motors with an adapter bolted onto the bell end and not directly attached to the shaft. Cool.
But I have had bad luck with the bearings and their max wattage seems a bit lower than comparably sized and priced motors. The insulation on the leads is also flimsy. Not cool.

Thanks for the info SRT8. Hope you have not crashed a SRT8, that would be a shame/crime. Got myself the little 5.7 HEMI here.

Thanks for the congrats on the maiden fellas. The little Corsair really tears up the skies with the 450 motor in it, to think I was contemplating going with a 480 class. The little guy needs less than 6 feet of runway and it leaps into the air at WOT. I have found the landing gear to be useful for takeoff and as a belly guard on landing. With the 450 motor and a little lead in the nose there is no pitchy or twitchy flight characteristics but it is just a tad nose heavy. Great for high speed flight but not so good for landing even with the gear bent forward past the leading edge of the wing. I am torn between the Zero(cant find in EPO), the P 40 or the FW 190. If any of them fly like the Corsair I will have to have the grin on my face surgically removed. Have even thought about getting another Corsair and going with a 480 class speed motor and no lead in the nose. Just don't know if I could keep up with that kind of speed in this small of a plane anymore.

His handle actually reads as 'straight', rather than SRT

Good job on the Corsair, SF. I am working on mine tonight; got the servos and pushrods installed, went with 5g servos all around as mine is EPS and very lightweight. 400 motor and ESC is on deck.

So did the paint stick fairly well to your EPO foam?

I can't find GWS EPO Zeros anywhere online. But have you considered 'glassing an EPS Zero? It's really quite simple and the link to a fiberglassing tutorial posted a few pages back has some really good info in it. Here it is.

That's the route I will be taking with my future EPS builds.

Still working on the Mosa 2 - progress is slow.

Fuse and wing halves are glued together now. All control surfaces cut out. Some of the plastic pieces glued in.

I think I am going to try and go on the lighter side on this one. Power 10 motor, 40 a ESC 2200 mah 3s, 12g MG servos all the way around.

If I remember your Mosa history correctly did you not have one with a power 10 and were not happy with it? At least I remember you had a Mosa 2 which didn't have unlimited vertical which you didn't like and I think it was with a power 10...

I re-maiden'd my Mosa 2 last weekend. I only put 1 pack through it but it was fun. She has a firepower 15 motor in it (power up was out of stock). I actually tried it with a 12x6 Prop as oppose to a 11x8 prop which is usually what I use with the Mosa and performance seemed to be equal (which seem to make sense I guess). Didn't put her on the Watt Meter but my guess is 550+W.

oh ok. And that didn't give unlimited vertical? I don't know why I remember that?

Either way, yes, I think power 10 to 15 is the sweet spot (though I know rafe likes his with 25).

Well, I am happy to have this PM...I planned on flying while my daughter was school and it rained the whole time she was gone. This plane will fly in a small space pretty well and slow enough to curenthe itch

That Pico Moth is a real classic. There was a day when almost everyone had one of those

Arnav - yeah had unlimited vertical with power 25, but I want this one to slow down more and be a bit more floaty. I don't really care about unlimited vertical on this one. I can always upgrade the motor if I need to

Well I have the hinges all cut in now - not glued yet - using CA hinges as usual on a GWS build. Since I am of the opinion that all GWS landing gear basically SUXX, I found some extra PZ Corsair landing gear. If fits perfectly into the LG slots cut into the wing of the Mosa 2.

Once in a while you just get lucky - LOL

The PM is a special airplane for sure. I agree - everyone should have 2 of them.

For as long as the Pico Moth has been out of stock everywhere, makes ya wonder if it is discontinued. I believe the Beaver and E-Starter and maybe other models have suffered the same fate, but I sure hope I'm wrong!

A couple disgruntled GWS dealers over in vendor forum have claimed that GWS has only exported Slow Sticks (by far and away their best seller these days) with their last two container shipments to the US, over the course of many months.
