I have a Micro SS assembled on my workbench awaiting a motor that showed in today's mail. Cool little bird! Maybe at 7 ozs it can fly as slow as a Pico Moth.

Looks like we have a storm moving in for the next couple of days at least - winds in the high teens and low 20's. Guess I am grounded for a while.

I need to do some serious organizing in the hangar so maybe that is not all bad.

I flew the Mosa II in 27mph! iIt was a new personal high for me that day. I had a blast. It goes on auto-harrier mode when it comes to land at this wind... It was hilarious, stupid, and exhilarating all at the same time. I highly recommend. After that I stopped obsessing about how windy it may or may not be when I go flying.

Perfect timing on the storm. I have a bunch of airplanes to fix...

I have flown in some serious wind before, but I really just don't enjoy it now, so why bother. You are right, though, the Mosa planes handle the wind very well. As it turns out, we are having steady rain today anyway.

I actually love rainy days when I don't have to go anywhere. I just finished a deadline so I am off the hook today - very pleasant feeling

I agree. it is a survival game basically. You do it once (or a few times) and then you get it out of your system...

I also agree that sometimes it is nice to wake up late on the weekend and not rush to the field to beat the Taxi line...

Allerc has the Sniper-X on sale, as well as the Hyperion Extra 330 20e and 35E. The quality of Hyperion is superb.

I have seen a video from GWS' Taiwanese site that an engineer in GWS flying a P-51 in 3D. A lot of great ideas from GWS back then.

I've never had a Hyperion Plane - always thought they were just too expensive until I saw this one.

I just ordered servo and servo extensions for the 3 planes above. I think I already have motors an ESC's for them. Will probably start building this weekend. Have to clean off the work table first, though - ahhhhk

I am going to use the Emax 12 gram sevos on these three .... http://www.headsuprc.com/servlet/the...A-Metal/Detail. I have had good luck with these so far. They come with a longer than normal servo arms, so they work will on planes with large control throws. No good enough for true 3D, but I don't fly that way anyhow.

They can be hard to get though, so I got them while heads up has them in stock

I thought Hyperion was over priced in the past and I was dripping over Hyperion Me109 for loooong time. I heard that AlleRC.com might not re-stock Hyperion models after the current inventory running out. so I picked up the Extra 35e and the Yak 55sp (now out-of-stock) and am very happy now. I also want the Sniper but am afraid it flies too similar to my T1 Yak. So, I am interested in hearing your comparison between Sniper and Swift. I am concerning your Emax not having enough torque for a 48" plane.

I am guessing that the Sniper will be pretty similar to the Swift, but the Swift is my favorite plane so it won't hurt to have a "Back-up" - then I will probably b e more comfortable to start pushing the Swift a little harder.

I am running HS-65's in the Swift right now, and the Emax servos in the SU-31. Both of those planes have about 50 flights on them, and so far no problems with either. Those 2 servos are supposed to be pretty similar, so thought I would try the Emax in the Sniper to save some money. I don't push my planes that hard, so hopefully they will be OK. If not I will have to replace them.
