This model has a tow release fitted, and working, and 250mm electric spoilers that l fitted, which replace the existing outdated letterbox spoilers. It has a low wing loading of only 15 oz/sq foot.Maiden flight went well on 6/11/2011,off the slope.Added extra lead to the nose,to balance at 60mm,wing loading is now 16.5 oz/sq foot, total flying weight 2.9 kg.Flys well, and is very stable.

i've just bought a m/plex dg300 which had been winch launched and i would to fit an aerotow realease.
I was hoping you might have a positive setup

Thanking you in advance

Hi Chris,my MPX DG 300 does not have a tow release fitted, its built for slope only, coming in at a heavy 7kg flying weight.HobbyKing sell aerotow releases, which would be suitable for the task.A high torque digital servo is also required, mounted securely.I hope to hear from you,how your DG 300 flies,as there must not be to many left still flying today. The wortmann airfoil is perfect for thermalling, especially if you have the extended wing tips to 4.25 metre span, and if its built light.regards damian

Has anyone ever launched one of these Ka8's from a winch? Thanks.

The wings are NOT designed to be winch launched, this glider is designed for aerotowing or slope flying.
