Got the prop to fit tighter and stay on. It's been too windy for first flight. Considering the prop's location, how does it not break every landing?

I maidened mine today.
Was a little windy but I had a shot anyways.
Flew real good. Although the nose is a little squishy now.
I ha to push the battery right up in the fuse to balance it right, USO g a turnigy 1300 3s. Did you guys have to push it far up the fuzz???

My prop adapter didn't fit real well so I replaced it with a prop saver. Works fine.

I broke the prop only once, and that was because I didn't have the throttle off on landing. The stock ESC does not seem to have a brake, so when it windmills it really drags and the plane sinks quite a bit, so I tend to leave the throttle on too long on approach.

I used a 4s 2200 pack. so YES. The battery is almost in the midle of the wing

Dont be afraid to hog out some foam to make it balance properly.

That was me in a T-6 Texan. Yes, a real one. What a blast. 1900 HP. A friend let me go up with him a couple of years ago. Two seat fore and aft cockpit. We did rolls, inverted, and few loops. Talk about a tingle up the leg ! He tours the country with his Dad and two T-6 Texans. Have not done a very good job maintaing my private. Lack of real need outside of joy of flying, big time insurance and costs. So, RC is the closest I get.

I too used to have my fixed wings. but had to give it up for the same reasons.

Vettster, saw your posts about plans to buy new motor. I'd like to swap out motor now (stock motor died). I did some surgery and took out motor.

Can you tell me what you were going to buy? (motor type, size, etc., prop, wing spar, ESC if it has to be replaced.) I'll let you know what I find (prices) and send pics if you're interested.

Guys - I need to replace the motor on the RadJet and assume new props are required. Stock motor died. Can anyone offer motor prop options for the RadJet?

I run the Turnigy 2836 3700kv on my Model Engines FOX that I converted to RC.

Using a 1000mah 3s and an apc 4.5x4.1 it pulls 41 amps @ a bit over 30k rpm.

Ive had the maiden flight but not a speed run yet, Im hoping pass 150 kph.

143kph is my best so far with the old version of the fox.

This setup you mention. This will work on the radjet?
Looking at that motor, it seems it mounts completely different than the stock one. Unless I'm looking at the wrong one.
Can you maybe send me a link to the motor, or pics of it setup on your plane.

I have'nt bought any of the for mentioned stuff yet. I would not doubt that some modifications are needed. I know you can by special motor mounts for just about any application, though I havnt researched it yet. Browse HK for motor mounts. Youll see they have many different types.

I tried another lower fin experiment (6mm depron & duct tape). This time only one on the center line of the fuse, which should also help in protecting the prop. I took it up vertical, stalled, cut the throttle and went into a spin. Powered back up again and it pulled out nicely.
