How do you fix the omega profil? (see picture)
I don't want to glue it as I want to remove the upper part of the fuselage.
I was thinking of using magnets.
What are the sticker of the opposite side of the fuselage? It is for removeing the omega profil with a rod

For the first fly, how much elevons mouvement should I put?
I didn't do anything with "omega profil", not sure what it is.

I use clear packing tape to secure the upper fuse pieces.

I use 1/4" up and down (60% expo) - 5/16" left and right (70% epo) for elevon movement. Probably too much elevator expo.

10% left and right rudder to aileron mix.

I have never had an issue with launches up till that one. I had just made some adjustments and i dont think i gave it enough power before i threw it. Dont know if i want to spend another $20 on this plane since i continue having issues flying it.

Just took the pnp version for maiden flight and I love this plane. The only problem I had was that the ESC and Motor got quite hot even with ventilation holes. Should I add a scoop to get more air in it? Also do I need a separate ventilation hole directly above the motor?

I cut a vent hole in the top just before the esc and cut off the foam the sticks out from the main body around the motor. Helped a lot.

What kind of speed/MPH are you getting out of a 2836/2350kv....and with what prop?

Thanks,

2836/2350kv on 4S looks like a great combo for the Radjet 800...

Thanks,

Well, guys -- think I'll be checking out of this thread -- have so many different threads I try to follow, and my poor little RadJet finally bit the dust once too many times: earlier this week I had it out, trimmed great, running fine, flying inverted right in front of me at about 20 feet out, doing a R-to-L pass.... and it just.... exploded! It was the coolest thing ever! I think what happened is that the right wing was still sporting the original adhesive, and I must have used superglue instead of UHUpor, Welders, or epoxy, and it just cracked under the final stress - I am sure it was weakened from prior impacts.

Was not pulling a lot of Gs or anything at the time, worst force was maybe a bit of a cross wind gust got under it, but somehow it just lost that wing, then spun, slinging the ESC, battery, canopy and anything else loose, then it all fluttered to the ground. It was pretty cool to see!

So, while I could probably rebuild it, I figured the poor thing deserves to rest in peace at this point, so I gratefully thanked it for helping me learn to fly a 'wing', and on my way home, stopped by the LHS and promptly picked up a Stryker F27Q!

Thanks to all who contributed with info on this thread that helped me out -- in the end, the RadJet is a great little bang-for-the-buck airplane!

If you ever want to hit me up for comments, info or anything, just PM me or track me down on one of the other threads.

I picked one of mine up one day, after a flight, and noted one wing was 'loose'. I use epoxy and wooden skewers (2 per side here) for extra strength, but the epoxy join had cracked. It was just wobbly, but another flight or two and it would not have been a good result!!
I pulled it apart, re-epoxied it, and it has been fine since.

I guess model planes should need reasonably detailed checks done often enough - when you get home each flying day(??), or even between flights really. That is if you want to be sure the next flight will be successful.
But some of these smaller planes are too much fun to 'waste' (LOL) time between the next flight! So I just change the battery, do a quick controls check and off it goes again!

Track,

I know what you mean. Mine has had more facelifts than Joan Rivers. Only so much packing tape can do to hold her together. Looking pretty ratty. I got mine at the intro price of $39.00 No downside there. A lot of fun on the cheap. It was my first real entry into anything resembling speed. Haven't flown it in months. Too many other new challenges. The JPowers funfighter series is a hoot. The little Rare Bear will do 100.

Thanks for helping and supporting the rest of us here. !

Salutations,

Hawk

Mine just arrived in the mail yesterday. Gotta start assembly asap. I love the Engrish instructions... especially the radio instructions that show you how to move the "joystike" and how the helicopter will respond. And this while showing images of the wrong airplane.

My wings kept coming loose too until i realized the foam is super slick and the glue just couldnt bond well enough. Had to sandpaper it to roughen it up but was fine after that.

I am really surprised with the size of the motor. It is really tiny, I did not test it yet but I am wondering if I can go fast with that. The shaft is only 2.3mm?!?

The stock motor is tiny and the shaft can bend easy if the prop hits just right when landing. I was getting around 140-160 watts with the stock motor/esc setup. It was enough to zip around, but not super fast and the vertical was not unlimited. If you can double the watts with another motor/esc combo, the radjet becomes really fun.

My wings were coming loose sometime in the first dozen flights I made on it. Mine was built by a previous owner but he never flew it, so I'm not sure what glue he used. So I sandpapered them and used white gorilla glue, haven't had a problem since.
