Dave,

I've been looking for a plane that I can fly when the winds ground my gliders.

This was a typical fall/winter day at our flying field.

I believe I've found that plane.

Cheers,
Don

Thanks.

I need to finish my blu baby and learn to fly it first but I think that this may well be my second plane!

The BB is a great plane, my first scratch built foamie.

I've since had two and taught my grandson how to fly with the 33" version.

yes! thats what the ""Wot Next" was intended for.. i designed it as a 2nd plane.. ideal to move on to the next level after a rudder/elevator/throttle trainer.

its soft enough not to be intimidating for a learner but still has enough "go" to be fun for the experienced flyer. i love flying mine low and slow using loads of rudder/aileron for flat tight circuits etc

it makes me

Baron Von Wingover makes his escape!

Scources have today revealed that the dastardly villain Baron Von Wingover (see post 23) has made his escape in the plane he built from the plans he stole from that great tombe rcgroups... for the "wot next"

experts have assured us that the photographs are genuine and that the Baron was last seen flying over Kent on his way to the English Channel...

and another, seen heading south with the sun setting to the East

just quite how the experts can ascertain that the sky in the background of the photos is in fact the sky over Kent is beyond me i still feel that the sky shown in the photos is the same one i see over a little known football field in Wigan every time i go flying

this satellite image does however clearly show the Baron preparing to make his escape!

Andy

that i would like to see.........

honestly... i took the photos while flying after work today!

to clarify.. i took the photos holding the camera in my left hand (Fuji finepix point n shoot), while flying the model in a stiff breeze with the transmiter in my right hand!

the Fuji is designed for right handed use as the shutter button is on the right (but i am using my left hand)

and i was holding the tranny and flying the model with just my right hand..

you know that old "rub your tummy while patting your head" thing?

yeh! next time i will video it..... just for you!

Hey David,

That's some juggling act you have there. I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous..
Andy

PS. love your designs, and looking forward to seeing some more flying videos.
PPS. I built a WW1 Bipe a while ago, similar to your baron's plane, but based on the "Slofly 28", but haven't flown it yet.

i feel sure the Baron would love to be joined in his quest for world domination by such a good looking Bi-plane...

that seriously looks like a fine plane.... looking for a fine pilot!

get it flown!

set a heading for "the fartherland" and keep flying!

i feel sure that Baron Von Wingovers "attempt" to return to Germany are not yet over...

remember! non of the above has yet been proven as fact!

Hi David

Pilot....You are absolutely right, that's what the old planes need. Where did you get the "Baron" from?

its solartrim.. a self adhesive self coloured thin film sold to add stripes and flashes to your iron-on film covered model (solartrim needs no heat)

the red and the iron crosses are from the same stuff, sticks to depron a treat too

i guess its just the same material that laser cutters use to do lettering for notice boards etc.

just a note if anyone uses this type of material on their "wot" you must cut through it along any hinge line on a control surface.. you cant just cover right accross a wing, the aileron must be a seperate piece of trim
