DR Patso, what was your initial problem that caused you to crash on your first times out? Were the initial settings incorrect? I'm curious because I have not maidened mine yet and have my mix at 50% and trimmed at less than 1/4 inch.

im pretty sure that first flight i had elevons setup well enough to fly.. It's just to heavy to throw from the prop with no power on flat ground. Probably doable from an elevated surface.. throwing it from the nose scared the crap out of us but honestly it's soooo easy.

if you have 2x 3300mah 4s batteries do not be afraid to 3/4 or full throttle it while holding the nose... exactly like the launch in the video.

I'm trying to figure out how to launch it by myself as I won't have helpers all the time. It's pretty big and heavy.

i don't get how these launch problems go on... grab nose, go full throttle, throw it hard, paralell to the ground overarm.

Sounds good coming from a seasoned pro, but I've never flown mine yet.

Here are the basic build direction if you need them.

Remember your plane had mental amounts of watts... People running on 3s etc.. will have a harder time of it.

And first launch is the hardest before it's trimmed. Once you've got past the first launch and it's trimmed, the next should be much easier.

One tip I've got for anyone with problems launching, once you have it trimmed for level flight, next time you launch add in 4-5 down clicks of elevator. (so the plane will climb) It helps keep the plane up whilst I get my hand on the sticks.

No way. I have launched one with 1250kv 10-6 prop and 3S batteries several times. I just apply full power and trow the damn thing. You will get into trouble if you trow it swinging. Imagine you are gonna trow it in a straight line, and that its suppose to travel over your shoulder in a straight line as well. Not like you would trow a boomerang.

OK ,well maybe I will do a full on launching tutorial video.I will also make a simple cheeze bunggee cord and hook to show in the vid.

It really is not hard to launch, if you do it like we say without hesitation.

The problem is watching trappy throw it....

It seems easier too launching it from the prop then full throttling while it's in the air. Atleast easier to throw it in a straight line...

Anyone having launching problems watch my earlier video in this thread.. That was Dan's first try at launching it with full throttle from the leading edge.. It is unbelievable but so easy to launch with your thumb on the bottom fingers on top grabbing near the camera.. full throttle and throw it to your left.. it is the only way to launch on flat ground if it's heavy.

another thing that got me is it is hard to hold that way w/o power... once the throttle is at half its so easy to hold with just one hand on the front

Hey Max

Come on down to Tampa Florida and I will help with the launch. Got a lot of time now that I'm out of work.
