Okay I went for a smaller motor. More of a lighter one.
The Mega 22/30/3 weighs in at 223 grams. WOW! Over 7 oz.
Pulled a brand new CSRC E25-12 1200kv motor.
Here is the data sheet.
Top speed should be the same.
because looks like I am removing 3 oz from the nose and 2 and a half off the back.
Should make a difference.

Heck I am only loseing about 200 watts.
But this motor weigh in at 150 grams!

Dont know the exact diameter but at the hobby shop they are called the "Guide Tubes for 256 and 440 rod" The collars on the end are 3/16" wheel stops

I actually did use it as a gimble. Through a servo behind it and attached it to the box. It worked and tilted the cam about 25degrees down. But the servo was heavy and deff wasnt the best set up. If I do it again Ill move the servo back and bury the rod. I ended up adding a piece of coro to the back of the gopro box as well that protruded out and had the FPV cam attached as well. It was cool, they both tilted together. Ill deff rework this a bit better into another build.

Okay guys, I need your help.
Really who has the longest distance flight with a ZII?
Me I am not looking for the distance, I am looking for the time aloft.
I would like to go up and fly as long as I do with my old raidian.
I was able to stay aloft for 2 30min flights.
I know some of the info will depend on the wind and location.
But what is the longest ZII flight?
I would love to duplicate it to see if it matches my needs.
There is a awesome drive over some open country on the way to bend, Oregon.
That I would like to try and fly the full 30 min run at 40 mph.

I will also have a video request.

Has two of you FPV guys flown from two different places. And met up in the middle of the two places. Then follow the other back to his take off spot and land.

I usualy fly for 25-30 min with 2x 4000mah 4s nanotechs with my ZII doing around 38-40mph

With the stock motor?

mine did 14 miles at 30-40 with stretches of 50-60 mph and had 1400 mah left out of 6000 of packs leaving the 20% in the tank as well. 3014-12 scorp with 9.5x6 with an ice 75

left bar is the speed, right bottom amp draw... it was windy so it's a little skewed, it's gps speed. starts with a tail wind and by 1 minute shows a headwind.

the google earth download showed it traveled 14 miles and was aloft for 21 minutes

Are most of yall running a 30 or 36 inch DL antenna on your Zephyrs?

Do I get better reception with a longer antenna?

im using ez uhf. when i was on Mhz though i had a 4m antenna. it was awesome, just a little cumbersome and draggy.

no, the shorter the better. most of have the rx out on the end of the wing. The DL antennas length is just how long the wire from the rx to the 1/2 wave dipole.

what do you think the best advance controller is for the zephry 2
