Yep, I used 3M Super 77 for applying the laminate, worked just fine.

Now I know what it looks like to hit a tree at 100 pmh. I think you will need more than hot water to fix. At least the spars stayed in so you must have done a decent job building your ZII.

The nose should come back out with the hot water or hot air but that crack going to the back will need more help. Maybe some type of spare inserted perpendicular to the crack and then glued. Probably gorilla glue which is lighter than hot glue and stronger. You don;t want to make one side that much heavier than the other.

I just saw the close up of the underside. Looks like the fiberglass spare has been dislodged a little and the main carbon spars may be cracked. Can't tell how bad but they look bent. Need to fix those as well.

are you guys using differential on the ailerons?
do you use bigger throws for landing? i did a test today and at slower speeds the elevator loses pretty fast his effect.

nope, i like to have them with a large throw at all times, i just go gentle on the sticks. when going slow, however, at some point, there just isn't enough airspeed for them to have any effect no matter the angle (when its heavy in particular, you can't go all that slow)

if you really don't have much throw when you fly you might want to have a rate switch for landing/slow speed. a matter of preference i guess.

as for differential it doesn't really make sense on elevons afaik. you'd need some kind of tail and true ailerons. (like a plank wing?)

i think these were about 1.5kg - im not too sure. foam elevons over the blasa ones, no laminate, 2200 3s battery, motor mount cut in even deeper than standard, tiny motor, tiny servos

SEFF 2012 Paintball Shoot (7 min 47 sec)

heaviest i know of was adamchicago with a 3.6kg zeph (not a ZII)

my old ZII was 2.7kg it flew fine. it had 6600 of 6s

typical weight for FPV is about 2.2 -2.4 kg with 6600 of 4s.

the CG is always the same.
