I'm just jealous since I have to travel pretty far to get a clear area about 400' x 700' to fly in where he had square miles of open land.

Cheers bud, I was really surprised on how well it seemed to work first attempt. Still needs a little tweaking thou.

As for where I fly it's the east of the country that's very flat & the soil is really rich so all the land is used for crop farming outside the towns & cities. It also makes it ideal for full size airfields & RAF & USAF bases, WWII & current.

I know this glider place sells the kits but its expensive.

i just bought from Hobbyking, 10m tubing for 5$. havent tested it yet tho.. but it feels good..

I also found the tan latex tubing made by Watts on Amazon. It is 3/8" OD by 1/4" ID. I got it for about $1 a foot.

I doubled over the Blue 8mm x 10M bungee to get about 12kg of tension. But I felt that was near the end of its elasticity. So I have now doubled it again to give 4 lengths. I'll have less walking to do as well when I stretch it out. Will be trying it out tomorrow.

Right now I use 2 parallel Watts 3/8" tubing which are 10 feet in length.

I am able to get up to 20 lbs tension in about 30 feet total from front anchor to the back of my launcher. So the tubing is stretched only 15 feet or 1.5 times it's length.

I can go more but I don't have to unless I want to launch a really heavy plane. My ZII is 2kg or about 4.5 lbs and I have test launched it about 18 lb tension.
