Voici mon Easystar 2 acheté en Kit "RR" c'est à dire avec sa propulsion (moteur,et Esc) et ses 2 servos d'origines!
Reste à rajouter 2 servos "Nano-S MPX" et ses 2 rallonges de 30 cm, le reste est fourni dans le kit !!






Voici ma décoration finale voulue sobre et visuelle !!





















Modifications!



Pas mal de modifications (non nécessaire) mais que j'ai voulu améliorer ! Ce n'est pas parce que ce genre de modéle est en matiére "EPP","Elapor" pour certain encore détestable, qu'il ne faut pas le peaufiner, l'optimiser et le rendre plus valorisant!

Voici les détails ci-dessous !!

- Premiére chose, la clé d'aile d'origine (blanche) remplacée pa une clé "carbone" bien plus légère



21 grammes de gagné!!!!


- Ponçage complet des ailes et pose de "plat carbone" pour une rigidité accrue de la voilure!


Demi-aile brute sans ponçage !!




Produit qui sert à reboucher les imperfections de "l'EPP","Elapor"!













Le final,lisse,autocollants redécoupés ,vernis,et fini !!!

Finition lissée et propre de l'intrados !!!




Même chose pour le stab ,renforcé et fini au "polyfilla"!!





- Installation d'une roulette !!

Emplacement sur le fuselage,découpe au "cutter" proprement!!











Intégration de l'antenne du recepteur "Hott" dans la matiére "EPP" en position haute (fil noir dans l'EPP )!




Poids total en ordre de vol (avec accu 2200 mhA) fixé a 730 gr!!!



Modification de mon easystar 2 pour 2013, remplacement de ma motorisation d'origine par une autre plus performante !!

J'ai trouvé peu voir aucune info concernant une configuration semblable sur le "Net" et autant dire que l'installation du moteur n'a pas été facile tant la place est comptée !

J'ai du retravaillé un peu le compartiment moteur et trouver des astuces de fortune pour sécuriser notamment le passage du câblage!
2 petits guides obligatoires ( cure dent collé a la cyano solidement et recouvert de gaîne thermo) provisoires en attendant peut être de trouver mieux!!







Une petite rallonge de câbles pour le moteur , des prises de connexion pour l'ESC type "XT60" que je trouve toujours aussi génial et pratique et c'est parti!!

Beautiful Easystar II Gregoo! Nice job on the landing gear. Pretty decals. I presume the yellow plane is your ES1? Let us know how it flies.

AeroR - I was getting 25-30 minutes from a 3S 2200mah Turnigy battery in the summer, temps 50s to 70s Fahrenheit. I got 19 minutes at 22 degrees last week, usually about 12 minutes when the weather is below zero.

I'm the oddball here. I installed the ailerons first thing. I complained it was rolling too hard with both ailerons and rudder, and more with rudder than ailerons. Someone put me onto aileron turns. I hardly use the rudder now - only when it fails to respond with the ailerons or when I'm landing, since the ailerons don't seem to turn it well after I cut the throttle and glide to the ground. One thing about turning with ailerons - you lose altitude on the turn. So the matra is "Bank and Yank," in other words, pull up on the elevator as you bank with the ailerons.

I don't know about AeroSim, but Clearview is inexpensive and the SkySurfer simulation in Clearview is a very good approximation of the EasyStar II. I flew the simulator till I was confident and crashed the ESII soon after

Not to worry - you can dip the nose in boiling water and the foam expands to its original shape. Use a hair drier or heat gun (with caution) to raise smaller dents and straighten warps. You can glue the broken parts back quickly with Superglue. I prefer Gorilla Glue though because it foams and expands into cracks and makes a super-strong repair. It does take a couple of hours to cure.

I've nose-dived into the ground from 100' up (thought it was beyond repair when I picked up the pieces ), smashed the nose more times than I can count, broken the tail boom at least twice, ripped off the engine pod and foam above the wings two or three times . It still flies nicely and it doesn't look half bad. It's a terrific starter plane. Just make sure you collect all the pieces if you crash.

Merci !! Les autocollants sont du MPX Gemini que j'ai redécoupé !!
J'ai fait un essai avec la nouvelle motorisation, et bien niveau performance on est proche des perfs d'un inrunner 2200kv de mon ancien ES1 !!
Pour les qualités de vol , je ne vous l'apprend pas l'ES2 est plus précis, bien plus agréable que le ES1!!

Détail important sur l'ES2, je n'ai pas l'effet piqueur du moteur contrairement a l'ES1 !

25-30 mins from a 3S 2200 lipo is very good indeed.
Here in Australia , it's summer time now and should be no issues for the lipo.I have 4 packs of HK Nanotech 3S 2200 lipos.

I have a few hours on AeroSim that I bought from HKing.

Gregoo- very nice build of the ES2.
Would love to see how it performs in the air.

Does anyone have suggestions how to pack an EasyStar II for airline travel? Too long for the overhead bins, probably must be checked. How do you pack it so it isn't smashed in transit?

Use the orignal box with some added bubble sheets. Then add an outer cardboard box (I use the one which the ES ll was supplied in from the supplier). Is it's not stiff enough, then add a pair of thin fibre glass sheets between the two boxes' largest surfaces. Mark with orange "Fragile" stickers

Won't go as cabin bagage, though. Get a Multiplex Merlin for that

You'll probably have to check-in the LiPos and Radio anyway.

Rolling into a crash...

Hi everyone, this is my first post in this forum. I want to share my recent crash experience so you can give me some advice...

I bought a RR version of the ES2 a month ago (here in Chile only the Hitect Skyscout version is available). The stock plane/electronics/motor combination is really great. After 3 flights in R/E/T only, I decided to do the aileron mod and fitted 2 futaba 3114 servos I had. First flight with ailerons was last saturday. It felt different from the start and I liked it better than before. However... I was over-confident and tryed a full roll at medium altitude (50 meters perhaps, about 150 feet). The plane dived as someone said in this forum "like a Stuka" and I was able to recover from the dive by looping into level flight at 10 meters (30 feet), unfortunately it was a level flight into a tree...

Next thing I saw were four big elapor pieces falling from the tree . The left wing took the hit in the middle and broke in two pieces, but judging from the remaining deformation on the trailing edge It must have first bented backwards a lot. It was enough to crack the piece were the motor pod conects to the fuse.

I'll try to repair it (following Mutski's experience, what an inspiration ). My main concern is a missing chunk about 10 cm2 (~2 sq. inches) in the leading edge of the left wing. I'm thinking on covering it with whatever-cote following the shape of the rest of the leading edge... any ideas?

On a different topic:

I've had some second thoughts on COG though. The Skyscout manual seays 85mm back from the leading edge (I wonder why not 78mm as indicated for the ES2). Anyway I feel when balanced at ~80mm the plane tends to drop the nose in low speed flight. I have to apply quite a lot of up-elevator trims. however, when I'm landing, it seems that at reduced throttle the plane doesn't want to come down at all ()

Well, it appears there are two manuals out there, with different recommendations (CG at 78mm - kit, and 85mm - RR version). Please note that the position of the CG is also a matter of personal preference (Most beginners prefer a more forward CG).

R12, lately I've been going early weekend mornings to campus San Joaquin, the soccer fields are usually empty before 10 am. I tried Parque Ines de Suarez, but it was too small for the ES2, and too crowded.

Excellent travail!Si tu aterris sur le gazon,es ce que la roulette fait une diference,ou c'est plu tot pour proteger la partie inferieure du fuselage en cas d'aterrissage sur piste dure?
