New Product
UMX Hyper Taxi, UMX Beast 3D, and mSR X

Along with the Gee Bee, Horizon will be coming out with a few others. They all have the new AS3X stability.

Is this what all the "secret product" hullaballoo was about?

I must say I'm impressed with the new uses for a gyro system. I suppose when you have a hammer that effective, everything starts to look like a nail.

Anyone notice they're now doing 'BNF Basic' Just the aircraft, no cheesy batteries and no charger as people have been asking for. Can't seem to get a price for the mSR X but I'll be watching.

Thought it might be a wee bit less but I won't quibble. Looks like I got my car paid off just in time

EDIT- ah, missed that link...you overcharged by a penny, it's 119.99! Robbery!

I also heard they are coming out with a quad heli that may be in the ultra micro size range. Would make sense if all of these other craft are using a gyro stabilized board

I'm curious, exactly, as to the purpose of the MSRx. If you want that much stability, why not an MCX? If you want more agility, why not an MCPx?

I'd also question the absence of a 120-size CP brushless heli. I've seen a few full-brushless MCPx conversions (AP02 tailrotor!), and given the ferocious burnout rate associated with brushed motors in 3D flying, I'm surprised we haven't seen one already.

Pretty neat and although I have the micro P-51 and Mosquito I have told myself that never again will I pay that sort of money for 14" of foam sheet especially as I do not need anymore cheap packs and toy chargers. Heck I am building a 60" P-47 that won't cost me much more.

Why would you want a 3D Gee-Bee?

anyone know if the stabilization can be turned off? Would be cool if the gain could be adjusted from the tx, with 0% gain disabling the gyros.

I woke up, checked my email, saw the Hyper Taxi and was immediately stricken with the urge to punch Horizon in the face.

This new one has AS3X because it is flybarless. They do seem seem a bit reluctant with equipping their helis with brushless motors.

I think your overthinking the gyros, yes it adds stability, but not in the way of dampening the controls... It will be more stable in the fact that small corrections from wind / turbulence, small stalls etc will be smoothed out. Watch the video, the rudder is making tiny little movements to keep it going straight without imput. For me, if I'm not telling it to move, I don't want it to.. Just like my larger planes.... The small planes are prone to being "twitchy" and moving about by themselves this will take that out if it. Just like the helicopters, fully 3d VERY agile yet have gyros..

Well, I suppose I could just give them a high five

In the face.

With a chair.

Honestly though... it was an awful lot of buildup, and I expected it to be nothing, so I'm not really that upset. As for the gyro system... who knows.

I don't get the market for the Taxi.

$160 is kind of steep for a very toylike BNF. I'm sure it's more sophisticated, but the concept seems more like a $30 Toys R Us buy.
