I guess the sooner this product gets released the sooner people will stop complaining about a video that does not suit their agenda.

I preordered mine and can't wait! I would say I'm an intermediate skill flyer who has never done 3D. Do you think this micro will be easy to learn on?

Depends on your definitions of 'intermediate pilot' and 'easy'. Are you comfortable with flying purpose-built aerobatic planes? Are you comfortable with flying sport-aerobatics or pattern/precision aerobatics? The Beast 3D is not really intended to be one's first unlimited aerobatic ship, nor is it intended to be a 3D trainer. The AS3X system doesn't correct for the pilot's mistakes. If you dumb-thumb it, the plane will do exactly what you told it to do - even if that means diving straight into the ground @ WOT. Although some may learn 3D on the new Beast, there are other options for a ultra-micro 3D trainer that would be more robust and easier on which to learn 3D. For instance, the UMX Extra 300.

Oh man... that blows!! I've crashed my 42" Slick twice. The first time was a receiver issue and the second time was a showing-off issue.

I had my wife out taking pictures and I was doing a nice low rolling harrier and I dumb thumbed it into the ground! BUT... she's still alive and kicking! Lots of popsicle sticks and glue but she still flies!

I've got an Extreme Flight 48" Extra coming this week. Figured I'd try something new!

Joel,

Not quite as bad this time around...

Arrived home from work to 50 weather.
Dead calm and an hour of daylight.
Didn't waist a second and flew off my driveway til dark.

To me, it's unbelievable that my Beast is still performing flawlessly as I'm approaching flight # 400.
Not a single part has been replaced. (Except prop & batt)
Talk about economical flight!!

Love my Beast.

Wonder if my new Beast 3D will measure up.

The LiPos that provide the highest thrust-to-weight in the V1 Beast, Sbach, and Stryker 180 will also provide the best thrust-to-weight in the Beast 3D. See RCBabbel for plug & play 2s Hyperion packs. If you'd rather roll your own, see my blog thread for links. I included a pack-building tutorial for those who haven't done it before: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1360864

RC,

Sounds like a perfect way to unwind after work! Regarding Beast flights - I've lost count. Must be similar to yours. I still get a big grin on my face every time I take 'er up!

Regarding the new Beast measuring-up - your comment in bold is key, I think. As we all know - there is nothing quite like the experience of flying a well-trimmed UMX Beast in absolutely still air. The experience takes on a buttery, surreal quality - almost as if the plane were flying through oil. With the Beast 3D, we won't have to wait for dead-calm conditions to have that same experience. If I can get that surreal feeling while flying in the turbulent air of a hot summer day, or in 5-10 MPH winds - I'll be a happy camper! Long hovers, hovering torque-rolls, 3D maneuvers, and stationary snaps & point-rolls in 20+ MPH winds will be icing on the cake!
