Question: In one of the video, Mike is saying "because of the AS3X board, we can now move the C.G. farther back". Can we still play with the C.G. a bit to fit our flying style, or does the new board means C.G. has to be adjusted perfectly to within 1mm and never moved?

(thanks for answering most of our questions btw!)
I'm gonna say... CG less critical as apposed to more critical.
You can move it back for more agility, with less impact on stability.

RC,

Yes indeed! I've got it worse than ever this time! Already have a case of the ol' 'night before Christmas' butterflies.
I've always thought that they'd find some creative ways to use the mCP X's flybarless controller technology - but I never expected it so soon!

This is is very big! Game-changing, even.

Ten years ago, DARPA didn't even have stuff like this.

Looks like I'll be needing a lot more 2s packs. Guess I better stock up on Hyp cells before the rush.

The only problem is that these wonderful things will get here when it's 20 below. Which reminds me....

Ever since micros started coming out I've always hoped for a GeeBee. Now my wish has come true. I will definitely get this one.

The AS3X System (Artificial Stability 3 Axis System)?

Is this the first UMX with 3 axis gyro stabilisation

Edit: half a meter span and over 100 g AUW? Aren't we moving out of the micro field here?
I mean the original Cessna was 19 g and flew beautifully..
Whoa, they've just been getting bigger haven't they.

The real question is, can you turn it off?

Plus one on everything you said, except, it will more likely be 40 below here

Likely a lot of folks are disappointed in the taxi model, but overall this is a major home-run. Take me out to the ball game!

Made a quick FAQ for the three new UMX airplanes released today. If anybody want to add any official information to it, just let me know:

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1525626

Before posting any questions, it's a good idea to go check it, particularly if anybody is just jumping in the bandwagon and didn't read all the posts that came in after release. You may also have read all the info for one product but not the others, and some info is common for all products...

Thanks to all the HH guys (and special thank to Kevin) for answering all our questions!

Looks like copy & paste of the Leader 480 specs.

Off to send a note to Richard...

That's a very helpful thread. I don't know how many times some of those questions have been repeatedly asked...
