hey guy's i tried my HK parafoil yesterday.
I have build a trike with a .35 os-max weighing just over 1kg.
I din't work out as i hoped but i have a vid and maybe you can have a look and brainstorm about what went wrong. I think the trike has not enough weight so i will put some heavyduty wheels on it . I have 7cm shorter line on riser A

Did you Kite the paraglider first to see if would even fly right? Like in this vid http://www.ehow.com/video_4468486_pa...ting-tips.html
If you cant get the wing to do this first .... very stable over head , with little input from you. it will never fly RC'ed
My HK wouldn't after the riser mod , which I had to go way beyond to get it to fly half way right just for use as a power kite, . which is not near good enough for RC . The wing was sewn bad, not symmetrical in my case.

Having got mine to fly successfully i would say that you are quite close!!
Firstly try some more weight on the front of your gondola and secondly pick a calm day!! I don't fly mine if its windy they are a reall handfull then.

Rich, I would agree with you from my own experience. Also, I.C. engines are a bit tricky to finely control the speed which should have been cut soon after take off as the machine was tending to power-stall and together with the wind the flight unfortunately was a "No-No!"

Hi guys, I;m thinking of using this foil for as a steerable parachute for a RC-paratrooper...
the weight will be around 400-600g and it will have no form of propulsion...

Can anyone please direct me to a page that shows the definitive setup of this paramotor. It is so ridiculous that HK do not give any instructions whatsoever. Do they think we enjoy wasting time and breaking things??
I would love to know:
AOA - distance from A lines to B lines
How to set the break lines
What overall balance should be (nose up, nose down, or level)
How much the brake lines should move.
Prop size and pitch (I am using the recommended XR Type D Beechwood 3-blade Sport Propeller 12x5)
Motor Specs ((I am using the recommended NTM Series 3536-1400kv Brushless Outrunner)

3. slight nose down to level (depends on power system)
4.hold up side down and adjust so just loose, once glide rate is sorted make adjustments
5.depends on how long servo arms are, longer is better
6.Prop is about right, two blade works better
7. chuck that motor, HK are boof heads for recommending that high kv. 1000kv-1200kv for 3s.
The foil is too stiff on rear edge and needs softening by scrunching as has been soaked in rice milk and left to go off lol. If you use too higher kv it cause prop torque, the trike tries to twist.....widening the tie bar to 180mm helps.....usually with high kv and/or incorrect cog it will bank up and left then nose dive. As mentioned above use the kite method to test foil, it wont stay in the air like a kite as the foil is not the right design but if you grab it by the ties and walk backwards give it a tug and it should pop up in the air. If set around 70mm it should pretty much stay above your head while walking backwards.
I am by no means a guru or eddy expert but myself and a good flying buddy have spent countless hours testing different configurations, it is so so at best and takes a bit of tuning but it does flyafter plenty of look up farrkenbeauty on youtube to see different weight/power setups
