I'm no 3D pilot either and neither is my friend. That's why he took it to the club and had it fly by an experienced pilot. It's a myth the new V120D02S has problems with 3D. The pilot never flew a Walkera before. At first they were a bit cynical. But after the flights they all got enthousiast about how well the heli performed.

Just checked tracking info and finally after a long wait I'll get mine tomorrow

Had my first failure with the Benmlee clutch yesterday. Take a look at my post over in the bob's slipper clutch thread

The experts may make it look easy but the fact remains that they are likely to have learnt their trade from better helis. Just a Mikado Vbar FBL system cost more than a V120D02S. Here is Manual Campos flying the V120D02S. He is reputed to THE micro heli 3D expert. He did state that he had trouble getting the V120D02S to do continuous 3D earlier on with a pre-production model and it is still not that good.

Got your point but it sometimes looks if people just can't flip or roll the thing and blame the helicopter. It will not be on par with a Vbar but it can't for that price. And 90% of the pilots don't need Vbar quality. A dutch guy flying on the 3D Masters is using pro material but tested the Tarot ZYX. He stated it performs well enough for 90% of the pilots.

But I will know myself tomorrow how it flies I won't do 3D since I can't but I'm curious how it does in sports flying. I know my Genius CP which isn't perfect either is my favorite micro at the moment.

I ordered one from oomodel...I had been debating biting the bullet and getting a devo8s with my next heli purchase from them but if this module works I can put that purchase off for a while. I just got the 45 dollar ladybird but it comes with a very basic tx and I would really like to be able to tone it down around midstick, plus the tx it comes with has way too much (non adjustable) tension on the sticks for my taste. This module should allow me to fly my ladybird with my 2801pro if it works as advertised.

I feel some of you are doubting V120D02S, and yes there are many issues needed to overcome, without a good turning and flying skill will hard to do some violence aerobatics, but a newbie also can fly it well too, just not good enough.

Although stock motor is not powerful enough for most of you, but I want to show you that with careful turning and little mods can get quite good result.
What I did only about reducing frictions and weight.
The mods are all about reducing weight to get 96 gram and total cost less than 1 USD.

V120D02S - Happy TicToc Bird (4 min 32 sec)

Now you know why Manuel Campos always flight without canopy, because it weights 4 gram.

Been following your Youtube videos for a while now, and watched them all too. I'm impressed with your flying skills and ALL the simple mods that you've done on your 120D02S, including the 0.1mm WASHER(s) you added, to make it fly really nice. With all the extra patience you've done, this heli flew more precise & better "power" than the "stock set-up".
Love your videos

I'm no 3D pro, thats for sure. I'm learning at what seems to be a quick rate when i hear some other people talk about not being able to do 3D after a year or more. But I flew my first 2 CP helicopters in March of this year after logging hours in a simulator. My first 2 CP helicopters were the 4f200 and the V120d02S. The 4f200 is a crash course in helicopter mechanics if you didn't already know about blade phasing, pitch, and all the other goodies. But the v120 was just a crash machine. I was able to learn on that helicopter rather well and only recently upgraded my motor.

But it seems to me that one of the main issues with the stock D02S is the motor and ESC. They both lack a little bit but are still, really, pretty good for what you pay. I don't think upgrade motors are really needed that much if your ESC is performing correctly and you keep your motor lubed properly. Not all of Walkera's ESCs perform properly and they seem to degrade in performance with time. But upgrade motors are actually a big improvement over stock even with a degraded, poorly functioning ESC.

Enjoy your new heli. FYI mine is the 3 axis version using a 2801-pro.

Hi ej189, I also follow all of your videos, as you well know, and I admire the mods you do and the way you fly. But I cannot get anywhere such a 0.1mm Washer. Where did you get it from? Thanks in advance.
