I'd fly at 100% rates with 50-70% expo to start. It's kinda standard on all my 3D planes. You might even want to try 80% expo on all surfaces.

I had made the pre-flight check, motor and servos are Ok. No problem with the possible bare wires between the ESC connectors and the motor. I will adjust the position of the ESC, Rx and battery for the right CG in the next evening. I use the Nano-Tech 180mah-3S.

I plan to adjust the low rate for the maiden around 50% of throw for the elevator and aileron as some of you suggest in the previous post about the 2S version. Other suggestions about throw and expo %?
Have you had a chance to fly this plane yet?

No, not yet, I was out of town for the last few days. I plan to tune the CG in the next evening. Maybe I will post some pictures of my final setup (ESC, Rx and battery position) if some of you are interested.

I plan to do the maiden on the next week-end.

I have a very beat up T28 that I converted to 2S brushless. More than 9 lives out of this one.
Linear servos are getting tired and there is a pile of gorilla glue.

My new Edge 540 should be in tomorrow. Just joining this thread.
I'm hoping for a good experience. My first HK plane.

Assembled and maidened my Edge.
Motor sure is noisy. Servos are quick and very silent compared to linear servos from HH.
Had a great start. It flew well and required no trim.
I got carried away after several minutes and don't really no what happened after agressive flying but crashed nose first.
Knocked the rudder and vertical wing off. Bent the motor shaft.
It survived very well considering the crash.

I had a burned out AP05 and used parts from it to repair the shaft. Changed the prop to a balanced 5030 and should be back flying today.

I'm still trying to find a better way to improve the battery storage area to keep the battery from shifting.

Too early to be happy yet but I think this plane will work out.
A big change from HH planes. I do like working with individual servos and the OrangeRX receiver.

I found that the magnets for the canopy are no very strong. I think I may lost the canopy on a quick snap roll.

Does somebody have make a modification/improvement to be sure that the canopy will stay in place?

Remove the tape over the magnets and also use your fingernail to push the foam so the magnet sits flush on the metal.
